8. IAB allows you to use System-Provided List Pricing or, as an alternative option, an external User-
Provided Price List. Notice that System Provided List Pricing is set as the default:
If you select System-Provided List Pricing, IAB uses RAISE list price data to populate descriptions
and prices in the BOM. The particular list prices used for the System Provided Pricing are
determined when the user installs the Product Selection Toolbox software containing IAB. During
installation, the user specifies a country location, which determines which price list is used. System-
Provided List Pricing is updated through the Current Program Updater.
Next, we need to browse for the .CSV price file list we want to use.

10. Click the Add button in the User Supplied Parts List Files window:
NOTE:
If there are multiple available price files, you can select the file and then click the Up Arrow button to
move the new price file to the top of the list so that it will be the first price file IAB checks when it
creates a BOM.
When IAB generates a Bill of Materials, it looks to price files that you supply to find descriptions and
prices for items in the configuration. You can specify one or more price file files that IAB will search.
IAB searches the price files in the order they are listed and uses the first instance it finds of a catalog
number to provide the descriptions and price for the BOM. Use the up/down arrow buttons to
prioritize the order in which the files are searched.
Be a spreadsheet in .csv format (If you get a price file in .xls format, you need to open it, then do a Save As… in
.csv format.)
The columns in a price file do not have to be in any particular order or location, and the spreadsheet can also include other
columns. You will specify which columns contain the required information when you add a price file to IAB.
11. Click the Modify icon in the Price list file dialog:

You have now performed the actions you’ll use to add, remove, and order price files in IAB.
NOTE:
Another way to address pricing for an IAB project is to export the project to ProposalWorks (File
Export to ProposalWorks File…). When you export an IAB project to ProposalWorks, the prices and
descriptions provided by the IAB price file are not included in the export; rather, the prices and
descriptions from ProposalWorks are substituted. When the exported IAB project is opened in
ProposalWorks, the pricing functionality in ProposalWorks is used for pricing instead of the prices from
IAB. For more information, see the Lab Exercise for IAB Export to ProposalWorks.
