Green Book is a 2018 American biographical comedy-drama film directed

by Peter Farrelly. Set in 1962, the film is inspired by the true story of a
tour of the Deep South by African American classical and jazz pianist Don
Shirley and Italian American bouncer Frank "Tony Lip" Vallelonga. Starring
Viggo Mortensen as Tony Vallelonga, Mahershala Ali as Don Shirley, and
other actors.

Unlike other popular films, the film “green book” presents a film with
ordinary drama, but has a lot of meaning and message in it. Green book is
adapted from a true story that tells about racism in the United States in
1962. Tony Vallelonga, is a white man who was hired as an assistant to a
famous black pianist named Don Shirley, usually called Doc. Even though
here Tony doesn't like black people and even hates him. But that view
began to change when the dock went on a piano tour with Tony. Many
events changed Tony's perception of black people. I think this is what
makes this film special, because the audience is brought to a different
point of view to see how this issue happens to other people.

The parts of this film have a meaning. From the title of the film alone has
meaning. The Green Book is a guide book to places black people can go in
the United States. How limited black people at that time. Each scene also
has a very valuable life meaning. And the setting of this film is well
described as the atmosphere of life in 1962.

My favorite scene is when the dock is lonely at his house, because he lives
alone at home. Finally he decided to come to Tony's house to spend
Christmas Eve by attending dinner with Tony's family. The arrival of the
dock was warmly welcomed by Tony's family. This last scene was very
emotional for me, because finally doc can feel coexistence with white
people and Tony can accept black people in his life. Just like in the movie,
in real life, Doc and Tony's friendship continued until they died in 2013.
It's a really amazing film. With good acting, the right setting, and
messages of life, it's no wonder this film won one of the Oscars in 2019.

a relaxed disposition, a story that is not too heavy, and a plot that is not
confusing make this film easy to understand. Of course it's very suitable
to watch with family
