BLOOD TRANSFUSION EQUIPMET

- BLOOD TRANFUSION SET

Sterile infusion set with graduated chamber (burette)

for slow intravenous administration of a precise volume
of infusion or injectable drug, over a given time. This
system limits the risk for hypervolemia (an excessive
volume of infusion being given to a patient). Not to be
used for blood and blood products. Most burette infusion sets are disposable to keep your
working area clean and other equipment sterile.

- CROSS-MATCHING RESULT
- ORDERED BLOOD COMPONENT

Crossmatching is a test used to check for harmful

interactions between your blood and specific donor
blood or organs. It can help your doctor predict how
your body will react to those donor materials. Your
doctor uses blood typing and crossmatching to learn if donor blood or organs are compatible with your
blood. Incompatible donor blood or organs can cause harmful interactions. Your immune system may
attack the donor material, leading to dangerous and even fatal reactions.

- ORDERED .9% NSS

Normal Saline (0.9% sodium chloride) can be added to blood, but drugs and
medications must never be added. Compatible plasma or 5% Albumin can be
added to blood following approval by the patient's physician. Isotonic electrolyte
solutions that do not contain calcium may mix with blood if the FDA approves the
solution for such use or if there is adequate documentation of safety.
