‘BIO’ (Biography)

A bio is a piece of text that introduces you as an artist, your background, your preferred
performance style, your achievements, what you’re currently doing and your future plans. Its
purpose is to grape the attention of the reader and make you stand out as an artist. It is used by
promoters, agents, programme writers etc.

It should be written in the third person and should include past shows and other experience. You
should have three types:

1. Long bio (100-300 words)

Imogen Bull is a current dedicated member of Bridport young performers, she’s been a member for
Five years and counting resulting in Five shows. Her first appearance was ‘Ensemble’ in the musical
‘Annie’, following that she played the supporting lead ‘Taylor Mckessie’ in the stage version of the
hit musical ‘High school musical’, followed up by the Covid-19 filmed compilation musical ‘This is
BYP’ which was then followed by her in ‘Ensemble’ in ‘Seussical’ which then leads to her latest show
with the company ‘Oliver!’ where she played ‘Widow Corney’. She has recently joined the company
‘Bridport musical theatre company’ where she played ‘Chastity’ in ‘Anything Goes’. Some of her
academic performance credits were musicals like ‘Bugsy Malone’, ‘Legally blonde’, ‘Mary Poppins’
and ‘Our house’ where she played the leading lady ‘Sarah’. she studied at Weymouth college
performing in the devised piece ‘Beautiful like me’ featuring in the ‘Christmas showcase spectacular’
and played the supporting lead role ‘Sarah’ in the devised piece ‘The Last Good Day’.

2. Short bio (50 – 100 words)

Imogen Bull is an active member of both Bridport young performers and Bridport musical theatre
company. Some of her performance credits include ‘anything goes’, ‘Seussical’, ‘our house’, ‘legally
blonde’, ‘This is BYP’ and ‘Oliver!’.
