ADAPTIVE SIGNAL

PROCESSING
What is meant by adaptive signal processing?
Adaptive signal processing is a branch of statistical signal
processing that deals with the challenging problem of
estimation and tracking of time-varying systems.

Adaptive filters play an important role in modern digital

signal processing (DSP) products in areas such
as telephone echo cancellation, noise cancellation,
equalization of communications channels, biomedical
signal enhancement, active noise control (ANC), and
adaptive control systems.

What is the objective of adaptive signal processing course?

Adaptive signal processing concerns with processing of

signals where the processing param- eters are adjusted
continuously to suit time varying signal environmental
conditions.
What are types of adaptive filters?
 Least Mean Squares (LMS) Based FIR Adaptive Filters.
 Recursive Least Squares (RLS) Based FIR Adaptive Filters.
 Affine Projection (AP) FIR Adaptive Filters.
 FIR Adaptive Filters in the Frequency Domain (FD)
 Lattice-Based (L) FIR Adaptive Filters.
