1. Discuss further on five basic environments to be monitored for International Manager
 Political, legal, economic, sociocultural, and technological are the five basic
environments that a manager should monitor. Political already speaks for itself, it is
government related thus it is concerned with laws and regulations. Legal environment are
the patents and trademarks in a firm. Political laws can be applied here since this can be
the implementation. Economic environment deals with the population, wages, taxation,
and everything related to economy. Sociocultural is on beliefs, norms, status symbols,
religion or in short it is regarding on where you stand in the society. Lastly, the
technological environment is about research and development, arts, utilization, and other
factors related to innovation.

2. Select one multinational company and identify what characteristics of multinationals.

 Google is a multinational company, and it is used for browsing the internet, searching
information as well as sharing them. It very innovative and timely, it consists almost
everything that you want to know. Its employees get the benefits and pay that they
deserve.

3. Explain the three reasons why businesses establish foreign operations.

 Businesses establish foreign operations to broaden their scope, get more income, and gain
knowledge. The world is rapidly changing so entrepreneurs must innovate for them to
cope up with the fast-changing demands of people from different parts of the world. Also,
having foreign operations means more income for the company since they will have more
customers. Aside from profit, they will gain more knowledge on how to handle their
company more effectively in order for them to stay in the market.

4. Discuss the effects of globalization in different companies in the Philippines

 Globalization here in the Philippines makes the companies here to innovate and go with
the changes in needs and demands of Filipinos. It also positively affects the economy and
employment. Due to trade openness many opportunities opened for a lot of Filipinos
looking for job.
