CAREERS IN ARCHITECTURE 1

Abstract

Architecture is the final result of one's planning and designing to create buildings and other

structures. Throughout the next decade, the growth of jobs in the architectural market is about

three percent, statistically lower than most jobs. The outlook of job openings is typically lower

because it requires a bachelor's degree, a master of architecture degree, and the ability to

complete an experience program, something that people sometimes can not afford or do not have

the time to complete. As of now, the median wage for architects is right around $80,000, but

there are opportunities for higher-paying jobs such as landscape architects.

In addition, a career in landscape architecture includes jobs that may require planning out public

spaces such as parks and gardens. Furthermore, they can design buildings such as college

campuses and residential areas. They are also responsible for the environment surrounding the

building and how it will affect the built structure. After meeting all requirements for schooling,

some certifications and licenses needed to legally carry out work in Minnesota are a landscape

architect license from the board of Landscape Architectural Agency (LAA). Alongside the

license, the landscape architect must also submit an initial registration and a renewal of the

registration every June 30th of even-numbered years. Furthermore, if there were no careers to

look at how buildings were affected by the landscape they are built on, several miscalculations

could take place, like the ground beneath the infrastructure shifting causing the foundation to be

destroyed.
