FOR EWOR D

Far from the quest to make gold, Frater’s main interest was to recover
lost medical technologies and preparations from old alchemical texts
that may have been overlooked when alchemy transitioned into mod-
ern chemistry and to make these preparations available for chemical and
medical applications.
After the two-week class, I was hooked; I dropped out of San Jose
State University and moved to the middle of Idaho’s primitive area to
devote full time to the practice of what I had learned and in preparation
for the Secunda Class the following year. And so it went for the next cou-
ple of years.
By the time Tertia Class came up, I was fully vested in making alchemy
my life’s work. During class, Frater mentioned the reorganization of
Paralab, which was the commercial offshoot of the classes where alchem-
ical and spagyric products were being produced on a large scale for dis-
tribution. I wanted to work at Paralab and during some one-on-one time
with Frater, I asked him what I could do at the lab.
He asked me in return, “Yes, what can you do?” I gave him a list of
skills I had acquired, and he said, “Oh, a jack-of-all-trades and a master
of none.” After some discussion, he said to me, “Go back to school and
finish your degree in chemistry, and your work at Paralab will be waiting
for you.” This, of course, turned out to be the best advice ever. From 1977
until graduation in 1979, I juggled college classes and PRS classes.
Upon graduation, I packed up and moved to the West Jordan, Utah,
area near Paralab. It was June 1979 when I became the chief chemist at
Paralab and began working closely with Frater Albertus to develop min-
eral and metallic medicines. Here again his knowledge of medicine and
chemical technique seemed endless. Frater had a very powerful presence
when he entered the room, any room, and yet he was always very humble
and truly concerned about everyone else. For me, he was always pleasant
to work with and told great stories.
