We use the PAST SIMPLE to talk about things that happened in the past.
I, he, she, it, these pronouns use WAS in affirmative or interrogative and WASN’T in negative.
You, we, they, these pronouns use WERE in affirmative or interrogative and WEREN’T in negative.
Other Verbs
Most of the time we have verbs that are called REGULARS (they end in –ed in the past form)
The other verbs are called IRREGULARS (they change in the past form)
