Classroom Market Culminating Economics Project

In Social Studies, Economics will be our next unit. Our class has already
started discussing related Economics standards (good, seller, product, profit) while
reading Lemonade War. All students will be participating in an economics project in
order to gain a “real world” perspective of how economics truly works. They will
have a “real life” opportunity to experience being a consumer and a producer. Each
student will design and create a product to sell in our third-grade market. These
products can be anything from paper airplanes, rubber band bracelets, baked items
without nuts, bookmarks, or magnets. Any and all ideas that students are able to
create are welcome! Each class will be planning an appropriate price range and
creating a price list in class. The students may make changes during the market
based on supply and demand. The students will be using fake money to buy all the
products. All vocabulary from our economics unit will be used when addressing one
another and interacting with one another while buying or selling products.
The project proposal plan is due by Friday, April 28th. All products are due to
