PADRINO SYSTEM (PALAKASAN/PATRONAGE)

Even though padrino system is unfair, there are situations that padrino system will
prevail but not to the extent that this privilege will be used until it is abused. In the
culture of the Filipino, family and friends ties are important because of the culture. So
basically padrino system is a habit that can’t be removed by the government.

FILIPINO TIME
Filipinos have their already coined the term “Filipino Time” which is
synonymous to being late. This trait is used as an excuse for being tardy in
meetings, events, and other social affairs, whether formal or informal. It
reflects unprofessionalism and lack of respect for other people’s time.

SUKI SYSTEM
Though a suki relationship usually takes time and many business transactions to be
solidified, suggesting a suki like relationship and backing it up with concessions could
be used as a measure to build trust and at the very least hasten the development of a
suki like arrangement.

MAÑANA HABIT
As we can see that if we always make an excuse or any way to delay to finish a job or
either business work as soon as possible, we might be in a hurry when the deadline is
near. As a result we might tends to panic, worry too much, overcrowding and not able
to concentrate, so we might get more mistakes than a good outcome.

UTANG NA LOOB (RECIPROCITY)

Utang na loob may be good or bad for business depending on a lot of considerations,
but it affects the way business is conducted especially when the business person is
confronted with ethical issue. Utang na loob or debt in- side of oneself or sense of
