Joshua 24:14

Joshua 24:14-16
[14] Now therefore fear the Lord, and serve him in
sincerity and in truth: and put away the gods which
your fathers served on the other side of the ood, and
in Egypt; and serve ye the Lord.
[15] And if it seem evil unto you to serve the Lord,
choose you this day whom ye will serve; whether the
gods which your fathers served that were on the other
side of the ood, or the gods of the Amorites, in
whose land ye dwell: but as for me and my house, we
will serve the Lord.
[16] And the people answered and said, God forbid
that we should forsake the Lord, to serve other gods;

Intro:
Man has the power of choice. Ang kapangyarihan na ito
ay naabuso at dinala ang tao sa pagpili na magkasala at
labagin ang kalooban ng Diyos. Ang Israel ay may
kalayaan na pumili sa pagitan ng PAGSUNOD AT
PAGPAPALA O PAGSUWAY AT SUMPA, Ang Tunay na
Diyos o ang Mga diyos-diyosan.

Deuteronomy 11:26-28

[26] Behold, I set before you this day a blessing and a

curse;

[27] A blessing, if ye obey the commandments of the Lord
your God, which I command you this day:

[28] And a curse, if ye will not obey the commandments of

the Lord your God, but turn aside out of the way which I
command you this day, to go after other gods, which ye
have not known.

Genesis 35:4 KJV

And they gave unto Jacob all the strange gods which
were in their hand, and all their earrings which were in
their ears; and Jacob hid them under the oak which was
by Shechem.

I. Making a CHOICE is a REALITY.

“Choose”
Make a Real Choice
Man is not CONTROLLED by FATE

Ano man ang pipiliin mo ay laging may e ect sa iyong

kinabukasan.

Katulad po ng mga Israelite, we must make a REALISTIC

CHOICE.

Nasa atin ang Oportunidad na piliin sino ba talaga ang

aking Sasambahin at Paglilingkuran.

Pilate: “What shall I do then with Jesus which is called

Christ? Matt. 27:22

Making a Choice is Inescapeable.

 Generally people serve someone:

False gods, Possessions, Passions, Position, Prestige,

Ourselves, ego, etc…

Making a choice is VITAL

Blessing or Curse

Eternal Life or eternal Death

Joy or Sorrow

Heaven or Hell

II. Making a CHOICE is a RIGHT

“ Choose you”
The Choice is PERSONAL.

You have the Power to choose,

Wag kang magbigay o magprisinta ng mga EXCUSES!

Luke 14:16-24

[16] Then said he unto him, A certain man made a great

supper, and bade many:

[17] And sent his servant at supper time to say to them

that were bidden, Come; for all things are now ready.

[18] And they all with one consent began to make excuse.
The rst said unto him, I have bought a piece of ground,
and I must needs go and see it: I pray thee have me
excused.

[19] And another said, I have bought ve yoke of oxen,

and I go to prove them: I pray thee have me excused.

[20] And another said, I have married a wife, and therefore
I cannot come.

[21] So that servant came, and shewed his lord these

things. Then the master of the house being angry said to
his servant, Go out quickly into the streets and lanes of
the city, and bring in hither the poor, and the maimed, and
the halt, and the blind.

[22] And the servant said, Lord, it is done as thou hast

commanded, and yet there is room.

[23] And the lord said unto the servant, Go out into the
highways and hedges, and compel them to come in, that
my house may be lled.

[24] For I say unto you, That none of those men which
were bidden shall taste of my supper.

Everyman’s Excuses:

Businessman: My Wealth

Working Man: My Work

Family Man: My Wife

Student: My Grade

e.g Elizabeth… all excuses ceased… for when royalty

issues an invitation it is no ordinary matter.

Now, Is God’s Invitation worthy of our

Excuse?

III. Making a CHOICE is a
RESPONSIBILITY
“Choose you this day”
It is our Responsibility not Others’

Choosing God is a RESPONSIBLE CHOICE

Choosing God is an EXCLUSIVE CHOICE

You cannot add God to strange gods. 1st command

God in an Exclusive God.

Put away the gods…

God will not share your heart with other gods.

Our CHOICE is IMMEDIATE. THIS DAY.

Do not Procrastinate!
If we do not Make an Immediate Choice

Acts 24:22-27

1. We may loose the Opportunity for SERVICE

2. We may loose the Opportunity to be
SUCCESSFUL
3. We may loose the Opportunity for SALVATION
