Folk culture refers to the products and practices of relatively

homogeneous and isolated small-scale social groups living in rural locations.


Thus, folk culture is often associated with tradition, historical continuity, sense of
place, and belonging. It is manifest in song and dance, storytelling and mythology,
vernacular design in buildings, everyday artifacts and clothing, diet, habits, social
rules and structures, work practices such as farming and craft production, religion,
and worldview.

High Culture , this is the culture of the


elite and usually refers to artistic endeavors
such as music, dance, theater, certain writing,
architecture, etc. High culture is the realm of
elites and once something becomes part of the
popular culture elites will usually abandon the
practice. In other words, certain behaviors can
begin as an element of high culture and migrate
into popular culture.

Popular culture is the set of


practices, beliefs, and objects that
embody the most broadly shared
meanings of a social system. It includes
media objects, entertainment and leisure,
fashion and trends, and linguistic
conventions, among other things. Popular
culture is usually associated with either
mass culture or folk culture, and
differentiated from high culture and
various institutional cultures (political
culture, educational culture, legal culture, etc.).
Culture it is a system of symbolic and expressive structures that a particular group
of people develops and utilizes to enhance solidarity, understanding, and
transmission of knowledge. (Danesi,2019). Culture can be defined as all the ways
of life including arts, beliefs and institutions of a population that are passed down
from generation to generation. Culture has been called "the way of life for an entire
society." As such, it includes codes of manners, dress, language, religion, rituals,
art.
