In today's world, technology can be found at every corner.

(Shawntel)
Technology plays a vital role in our lives. (marilou)
technology improved our communication, our education, our infrastructures, our health system, and
many more. (Lising)

On the other hand, technology also has negative impacts on the environment. such as pollution,
depletion of natural resources, harmful wastes, global warming, and climate change. (norj)

but, with these alternatives. we can lessen the negative impacts of technology on the environment.
(marilou)

1. Cut down energy in your home. (lising)

one way to have a sustainable life is by reducing energy around your home. Lower energy in your home
results in smaller energy bills and extra money in your pocket. It’s a win-and-win solution for you and
also the environment. Start by unplugging electronic devices once they are not in use. learn to sun dry
your clothes during summer. the sun not only makes it smell fresh but you can conserve energy at home.
Less consumption benefits the environment and protects wildlife.

2. Next, The R of sustainability (shawntel)

Rethink- think before purchasing. Do you need that? Think 10x if those things you want to purchase are
based on needs and not only your wants.

Refuse- Avoid things like plastic bags and massive packaging. Whenever you go out shopping, always buy
products with less packaging. The excess packaging on the stuff goes in your dustbin, and from there, it
goes to landfills in most cases. It not only further contaminates the environment but also poses serious
health effects to humans and animals. (norj)

Reduce-Reducing is about minimizing the amount of waste we produce in our everyday activities. We
can exercise reducing our waste by Purchasing and using fewer items. For example, bringing our carrier
bags when we go shopping can help to reduce the number of plastic bags used. (marilou)

Reuse-Commit to reusable products and forego single-use items. Buy items that you can use not only
one time but can last for a long time. (lising)

Repurpose- Transform stuff you'd normally throw away into something cool and useful. repurposing
household items into different items is a way to not only upcycle the old item but to also acquire a new
item that did not cost you any money to purchase. Yet another benefit of repurposing or reusing items is
that it reduces the amount of waste that is sent to landfills. (shawntel)

ROT- Transform organic waste into fertilizer. Start composting. (marilou)

3, Finally, Your food. (norj)

“The world is producing the wrong kind of food, by a process that leaves millions of people landless,
homeless, cashless, and unable to feed themselves.” – Anita Roddick.

A vegan diet is a powerful way to improve your health, help ensure everyone has enough to eat and help
protect our environment. Therefore, switch to an animal-free diet.
conclusion:
we only have one goal. to achieve global well-being for the present and future generations. (lising)
we consume too many resources than our planet can produce. (marilou)
we rely on nature as much as animals do. (shawntel)
sustainability is an opportunity. we are not just saving the human race. as well as animals and all living
forms that help keep our ecosystem balanced. (norj)
