Physical Education

• Body awareness is knowing what the body can do, the shapes that one can make, and how one
can attain balance.
• Dance refers to a rhythmic movement that can be impulsively or skillfully enacted.
• Space awareness refers to the different directions where the body moves.
• The quality of the movement refers to how effective or attractive the body moves.
• Relationship refers to the position that the body makes or takes in relation to the medium
present.
• Spasm is the involuntary contraction of overworked muscles
• Muscle strain is a condition where the muscles are overstretched or torn
• Dislocation is the loss of connection between two surfaces in the joints
• Fracture is the partial split or total loss of connection of a bone structure.
• Sprain is the partial split of ligaments (connecting tissues) that gives support to the joints

CHEST STRETCH

ACTIONS: Stand opposite your partner about an arm’s length apart, facing each other. Place your hands
on your partner’s shoulders. Let your partner do the same. Bend down together at the waist without
losing hold of each other’s shoulders until your upper body is a parallel to the floor. Hold the final
position for a few seconds.

Tips to prevent someone from having an injury like SPRAIN:

✓ Gradually increase the intensity, duration, and frequency of the exercise routine.
✓ Get proper rest between each exercise routine.
✓ Follow the three phases of exercise: warm-up, exercise proper, and cool down.
✓ Prioritize the achievement and maintenance of a good level of flexibility.
✓ Wear proper workout clothes: leggings, shorts, socks, RUBBER SHOES, and a comfortable blouse,
or "sando," and a T-shirt. If you are in school, wear your PE uniform.
✓ Use safe and proper equipment.

Simple First Aid for Sprain: Apply R.I.C.E.

➢ Rest the injured area for 48 hours


➢ Ice – put ice for 20 minutes at a time, 4 to 8 times
➢ Compress to help swelling
➢ Elevate the injured limb 6 to 10 inches above the heart

❖ Republic Act No. 8504 the Philippine AIDS Prevention and Control Act - The Act provides for
education and information dissemination in various institutions and agencies, safe practice and
procedures (testing, screening, and counseling) in health organizations and associations,
monitoring of cases with confidentiality, and programs for anti-discriminatory acts (in the
workplace, hospitals, and other public institutions).

❖ Republic Act No. 10175 or the Cybercrime Prevention Act of 2012 - The law mandates the
prohibition of cybersex, child pornography, unsolicited commercial communications, and
computer-related identity theft.
❖ Republic Act No. 9775 or the Anti-Child Pornography Act of 2009 - This Act defines the crime of
child pornography.
❖ Republic Act No. 8949 or the Anti-Hazing Law - The Act penalizes those who will go too far
during initiation rites wherein the “applicant” is subjected to severe physical and emotional pain
and suffering.
❖ Republic Act No. 7719 or the National Blood Services Act of 1994The Act aims to promote and
encourage voluntary blood donation by the citizenry, provide for adequate, safe and affordable
and equitable distribution of blood and blood products.
❖ Republic Act No 8750 or the Seat Belts Use Act of 1999 - The Act aims to secure and safeguard
passengers and drivers of motor vehicles from injuries and other effects of vehicular accidents.
