Clouds ; Linda X Six

Did Linda have permission to let Six come with her in a wasp? No.

Did Linda even have permission to use the wasp? No.

But there they were, right at two kilometers above the ground, surrounded by the puffs of cloud
that Linda drove right into. The aircraft wasn't really meant for such travel- At least, not travel
straight into heavy clouds, so Linda pushed forward, getting above the initial line of clouds. "Isn't it
fun?" Linda laughed into the communication line, Six pulling her helmet off. "Are you hopping
out?"

"Why don't you join me? Isn't there an altitude lock?"

Linda hesitated. Yeah, there is, but she didn't want to risk it, especially if two spartans stood on the
top of the craft. So she unlocked the hatch. "Why don't you sit next to me?"

That was enough to make Six happy. She set her helmet in her seat, climbing out and setting her
armor to lock to the plating of the aircraft- Letting her sit next to Linda. "Man, seeing Earth like
this is... Nice."

"I'm sure it's better than falling down from space."

The two women laughed, Six leaning back against Linda's shoulder. "I've done that before, I think
I don't want to do it again."
Vacation ; Linda X Six

Linda scheduled her shore leave with Six's vacation days, the two women preparing the week
together months in advance. They wanted to visit a renovated beach on Reach- a decision that took
a lot of self-convincing on Six's part. The efforts to reclaim the land over the years- Especially
after Banished occupation- Were coming to fruition by the time they got news of the slot of time
being available.

They could have gone much earlier than they did now, but they both agreed they would rather go
when Reach was in a warm month, and when a lot of businesses near the shore they were going
were doing fine. Nothing worse for a vacation than to go somewhere and there not even being good
stores to go to!

So the two got their bathing suits on- A two piece for Linda, a one piece for Six, and stepped onto
the Beach, Linda raising a hand to her forehead to block the sun. "There's more people here than I
thought there would be. Are you going to be okay?"

She knew her partner wasn't sober- Six never could be when she was on Reach. But... She also
religiously kept herself away from drinking since buying the tickets for the ride to the planet to
make up for how much time she would be buzzed. Not really an actual solution, but Linda accepted
it since Six wasn't more than an emotional drunk.

Six usually preferred more masculine clothes for the beach, but she... Also didn't really want to get
in an argument about decency. She nodded. "The water looks clear! Do you want to hop in, or
wait?"

"I'll hop in with you!" Linda grinned. "Last one in buys dinner!" Linda took off- Six quickly
following.

"We share the same bank account, Linda!" Six shouted, dropping their bag of items in an empty
place before catching up with her partner.

Six tackled Linda into the water, the two laughing as they laid down in the shallow, a little too
sandy waves. They got up, wading deeper into the water, Linda climbing up the sand dune in it. "I
feel like being this far out was far more scary when we were kids."

"Speak for yourself," Six, seeing as she is a whole foot shorter than her girlfriend, was having a bit
of trouble getting up the dune. "You're like, 7 foot without armor! I'm normal sized."

"6 foot 8." Linda corrected her. "And you're not normal sized. You're bite sized." Linda, once Six
was in reach, scooped her up, setting her down next to her and kissing her jaw. "Nom, nom." She
nibbled, Six squirming and giggling.
Thorns ; Linda X Six

"Ow!" Linda winced when her hand brushed against the thorns of one of the rose bushes outside of
her and Six's home. She brought her hand to her mouth, sucking a little on the cut. "Jeez, is this
why your hands are always covered in band aids around now?"

Six looked absolutely silly, a sun hat tied partially to the back of her head- Mostly to shade her
neck. She held a little bowl of compost in gloved hands, her jeans covered in dirt and dead leaves.
"Yeah," Six picked some compost from the bowl and sprinkled it around the spot she was working
on. "My manager hates it because it irks customers." She laughed. "But you get used to the thorns
after working with them for a while."

A few pallets of new plants sat behind the two- Including brambles and other flowering plants.
Linda recognized it as routine for the smaller woman- Especially with her almost aggressive hobby
of horticulture. Linda cupped her hand into the ground, feeling for the bushes roots and gently
tugging it out. She handed the bush over to Six for her to place it in its new home- On the corner of
the house- and then picked one of the brambles up. A blackberry bramble with little flowers on the
ends of the stems.

"We should make jam." Linda carried the bramble to the empty spot in the ground, setting it into
the hole. "I think it would be worth it."

"Jam sounds really good!" Six lit up, patting the ground around the roses. She looked to her partner,
seeing her hands covered in the little knicks from the thorns. Six got up, walking over and held one
of Linda's hands. "Let me handle the others, okay?" Six gave her a nervous smile. "Let's get some
peroxide on your hands."

"I'm okay!" Linda shrugged, Six not taking that as an answer. Six helped her up and practically
dragged her to the door. "Six!"

"Getting used to it doesn't mean you don't clean your wounds."

Fairies ; Emily Grey X Carolina
Chapter Notes

TW; slight medical gore, medical drugs / high (but not in a NSFL way, just in a silly
way)

Carolina got hurt badly.

Like, broken limb, tendons exposed, adrenaline forcing her to push on until she dropped down on
the doctor's step hurt.

"Oh no!" Emily immediately picked the woman up and brought her inside, looking over her
injuries as she thought of the best course of action. "Baby, are you okay with being put under for a
little?" She laid Carolina onto a bed, Carolina giving a weak nod as Emily prepared some general
anesthesia for her. "I'm sure this won't hurt as much as those silly little muscles being out of your
body does! Just don't faint your cute little head before I can get the needle in, okay? I don't want
you to go into shock before I can put you under!"

Carolina tried her best to stay awake, the cold rush of the medicine feeling godly compared to her
pain.

Next thing she knew, the pain was replaced with cold and her arm that was hurt was wrapped in
bandages. "Good morning, baby!" Emily cooed, Carolina realizing that her head was in the doctor's
lap. "You were amazing." Carolina looked up at Emily, the lights in the room confusing her.

She turned her head, the lights starting to shift in her vision. "Am I dead?"

"No silly! You're alive!" Emily brushed her hands through Carolina's long hair- Pulled out of her
pony tail while she operated. "You still have some morphine in your system, so don't stress your
cute little self out."

Carolina followed the lights with her eyes, groaning. "Are those fairies?"

"Fairies?"
"The," Carolina weakly pointed to the fluorescent lights- particularly one that just kept on
flickering. "The fairies," Carolina rolled her head, laughing. "The fairies."

Emily shook her head. "Those aren't fairies. They're lights!"

"Hiii, fairies." Carolina bent her head back. "Are you a fairy, miss Grey?" She continued to laugh.
"You're a pretty fairy, miss Grey. Can I kiss you?"

"Once you get all your silly juice out, you can!" Emily giggled along with her.
Sparkle ; Kelly X Veta
Chapter Notes

See the end of the chapter for notes

Veta didn't know what was worse: Being put into SPI and fitting in 'as' a spartan, or being put into
a flashy party dress that matched the rabbit of the Blue Team's own dress for a mission.

Maybe the latter part of the second choice was worse. She didn't see Kelly until they reached the
club they were infiltrating, a rare case when the spartan II wasn't doing the faux ambush but
instead her ferrets were taking that job. Thankfully someone was good with makeup, as the first
thing she spotted on Kelly was the fact her scars were, for the most part, hidden with the stuff. Her
eyes trailed to the dress, her muscles, shit- her dress.

Maybe getting them to switch wasn't the best idea. Kelly stood out of place from the humans, her
augmentations making her a solid foot and change taller than Veta, who stood around average for
the humans in the club.

"You look starstruck, kitten."

Veta felt her chest burst of embarrassment and adoration at the pet name as Kelly bent some to
check her temperature. "May, Maybe we should get some drinks." She spat out, face cherry
red. Holy shit why am I so flustered over this! Kelly smiled and took her hand, bringing her to the
bar. They sat down, Veta ordering a drink for herself.

"Do you think the dresses are overkill? I feel like every time the lights come close to us, we
become disco balls."

"It's close to what everyone else is wearing," Veta kept her eyes on the bartender- A jiralhanae
male- as he prepared their drinks. "Plus if the intel is correct, it should help get the attention of who
we need."

"So a total perv?"

Don't word it like that, Veta sputtered in her head. It makes me feel like this creep we're trying to
get. "Yeah."
The mission was a success. The insurrectionist agent got lured in by them, and the ferrets stepped
in and apprehended him, Serin giving the group her regard for managing to get him.

But one thing was still nagging in Veta's head: Kelly. They didn't change their outfits from the
dresses when they got into the OWL on their way back to Infinity, and let the ferrets know they'd
join them in the hangar when they finished the debrief. But they stood beside each other when
Serin left, awkwardness in the air.

"So," Veta spoke first, looking Kelly over. The makeup from before was now smudged on her
dress, obscuring a lot of the little reflective beads, but most still shined with the florescent bulbs in
the room. "Kitten?"

Kelly smirked. "You like that?"

"Maybe."

"Maybe?" Kelly turned and placed her hands on her own hips. "You lit up like a tomato! I never
knew all it took to get you flustered was a nickname and a dress."

Veta groaned, her blush returning. "You can't blame me! You, you look like that!" She waved
around her body. "Any sensible person would think you're attractive."

Kelly leaned in, still mostly teasing her. "Then do you want to wash up when we get back on
Infinity and really see this dress sparkle?"

"Big talk for someone who thought the dress is for a pervert. Now you're wanting to get that
attention?" Veta turned away, trying to avoid eye contact with her.

"Only if it's from you, kitten."

Rain ; Kelly X Linda

"You're such a dork!" Kelly teased her teammate, both soaked to their underwear and muddy as
hell. "Getting all flustered because of some rain!"

"Oh shut up!" Linda scoffed, taking Kelly's hand. They were doing laps around the outpost they
were assigned to in their downtime, Kelly's idea. Not hers. "You have mud all in your hair!"

"The rain will wash it out!" Kelly brushed her own knees off, globs of mud sticking to the sides of
her hands. "C'mon!"

Linda began to protest, but decided it wasn't the best idea, following her teammate as they
continued their laps, the rain growing harder as they made their twentieth (twenty-first? She lost
count,) lap around the complex. Sure, they both heard in passing one of their officers yelling for
them to come in, but what fun was that? They never got to experience the rain now-a-days,
especially with all of the planets they were assigned to as of recent. Too many moons, too many
planets with droughts.

Too many boring planets.

It felt nice to have the rain on her skin, to actually get muddy. But she did forget the effect that
such a downpour had on their clothes. And how deep the mud would get. She was sure that if they
were kids again, they would be knee-high in the mud.

Then she ran into Kelly.

Literally.

Kelly noticed her stuck in thought and stopped, them toppling over into the ground and Linda
rolling off of Kelly. "Hey."

"I think you have some mud on your hair." Kelly teased her, awkwardly scooching closer, despite
the mud.
"The rain will wash it out." Linda teased her back, then two women grabbing each other's hand and
laughing.
Lost ; Palmer X Lucy

Lucy hated when the others in the fireteams she was assigned to would move on without her.
Sure, sure, it wasn't on purpose. Sure, they happened to not realize she wasn't ready.

She cursed in her mind over it, trying to follow the sound of their footsteps in the distance and the
tracks they left. It didn't help that it was one of those days that her stupid stupid stupid brain
decided, hey! Let's not want to work! Let's forget that we can talk again! A bad side effect of being
mute for all the years and her occasional PTSD attacks. While she could radio Tom and try to get
confident enough with him to yell out her position... She really didn't want to bother him.

He was the closest to a best friend, a partner, besides one ex-ODST that she had a few encounters
with. But she wasn't nearly as close with Palmer as she was with Tom, and with her in the fireteam,
she felt her chest tighten at the thought of privately telling her that they went on without her.

Surely they would know, right?

Lucy heard footsteps from another direction, checking her radar, noticing the friendly designation.
She turned to the source, thankful that the first thing she saw was the bright white armor of the
older woman, although, coming from the same direction she came from... Did they forget her too?

"Oh, Lucy!" Palmer waved to her, picking up the pace and stopping next to her. "They went ahead
didn't they?"

Lucy nodded, signing to her. <Yes, without us.>

Palmer sighed, crossing her arms. "What assholes." She looked Lucy over, then hesitantly holding
her hand out. "Having a bad day?"

She felt her cheeks burn in embarrassment. <Yes.> Lucy watched her hand, nodding.

"That's fine." Palmer patted her back, then let her hand rest. "The next rest stop shouldn't be far
from here. I'll chew them out."
<You don't have to do that.>

"They left both of us to find our own way. I'm sure you thought I was with them." Palmers visor
turned to the distance. "I won't leave you alone, Lucy."

Lucy thought for a moment, reaching and grabbing Palmer's hand, a little '"nk 'ou" coming over the
radio and the green light indicator for her appearing on Palmer's HUD.
Constellations ; Exuberant Witness X The Weapon

"Constellations?"

"Yeah!" The Weapon put her hands together, a big grin on her face. "I know Genesis is a pretty
bright place, but I didn't know if you knew if there were any of note."

The Monitor spun on her side, light dulling some as she thought. She didn't have many memories
of such things from her past before being a monitor, recalling what constellations were, but not
really considering it through the many centuries she spent on the planet. "Mmm." She hummed,
turning over again. "I can't think of any!" She laughed. "But I have seen stars explode. That's fun."

"I wonder if any of them we can see in the Milky Way."

Exuberant hummed again. "Most, if you did see, would be their early stages. You are quite far
away, usually!"

"I guess you're right on that. You should show us sometime! Maybe we could have some
astrologers give some constellations to Genesis. Wouldn't that be cool?"

"But you can't give a planet constellations?"

"I mean name some. Since there's none that are named."

"That would be silly!"

"You're silly."

Exuberant floated closer to her. "Objectively, you are silly for giving star clusters names." She
floated around the other ancilla. "But I think it would be a fun use of time!"

"I'll put in to name one after you then." The Weapon 'patted' the monitor's 'head'. Well, just the
metallic surface on the top of her.
"Oh you do not have to do that, CTN 0453-0!"

"You work hard, you should have some recognition."

"Only if you get one too!"

"If anything they'd just name a star after me."

"Then I will make you a constellation! Just for us! My present! I am a builder after all!"

Before she could tell the monitor that wouldn't really work, she was already gone, the Weapon
reaching out to her and laughing.
Vintage ; Kai X Tex

"WHAT?! Oh my GOD."

Kai's voice boomed in the store, hands on her cheeks as she watched the blonde come out of the
dressing room, a dress patterned with sunflowers and a deep blue color covering her features. "I
don't know, Kai. It feels... Weird." She brushed her hair behind an ear, looking at herself in the
mirror. Her scars were the first thing to her that stood out, but Kai didn't seem to care.

"You're so pretty, Tex!" The taller woman stepped behind Tex, lifting her arms, then bouncing her
breasts, giggling. "For a vintage piece, there's good support."

Tex was used to Kai being crude, so her actions didn't really have any merit on her psyche- But she
did feel more comfortable with her affirmation. "I just think it's a little too... Traditional? I don't
know," She lifted the skirt of the dress, watching the creases form from her fingers. "I feel like I'm
more of a sexy black dress kind of girl."

"You always wear black, babe."

"'Cuz it looks good on me."

"Why not," Kai stepped away for a moment, showing her a blue shirt dress with polka dots.
"This?"

"You really want me to wear something house-wifey, huh?" Tex laughed. "Is this some kind of
fetish?"

Kai placed her hand on her chest. "Maybe- But I seriously think you should branch out! Being
slutty is fun, but sometimes modesty can be sexy too!"

"I think you see me being modest as sexy, Kaikaina."

"Maybe."
"Alright, I'll try this one on. Just for you."
Roses ; Palmer X Lucy

It felt childish. She didn't know what public school felt like- She was one of the young Beta's that
never happened to go to school, after all. But she knew intrinsically that the yearly tradition of a
vendor with a collection of roses from various flower farms was something that originated in such
an environment. Lucy knew that all the helljumpers and IV's that bought the singles were doing it
as a social pressure- Who wouldn't like to be given a rose during the month of love?

She never engaged with it. There were years where she was tempted to get one for Tom, mostly out
of pity for the vendor. Hell- There were times where the vendor would approach her and give her
flowers bought by some of the soldiers she trained.

But she herself never bought them. She had no reason to.

She watched from her desk, head resting on her hand as a few groups exchanged their flowers and
walked off and the vendor approached the office she shared with Tom and Jun. "Miss Lucy?"

"Keep them."

The vendor gave her a nervous smile. "Of course."

Palmer didn't know of this vendor. Sure, she spent a sizable time on the planet because of her
duties, even as a helljumper, but she never had business during this time of year. So when she
spotted the stand covered in roses, she approached, looking the flowers over. "Are you just...
Selling flowers?"

"Yes, ma'am."

She picked a bundle out, glancing over the prices. "Do you always do this?"

"Yes, ma'am." The vendor laughed.

"I'll buy these." She nodded off to him before walking off, still looking them over. Little ripples in
the pedals indicated that they were frozen before... But they weren't major.

Nothing someone who wasn't a spartan would notice, at least. Still, she could only think of a
handful of people to give them to. Then she walked past Lucy's office, stopping and peering in.
Lucy waved to her, Palmer smiling and inviting herself in. "Oh. That vendor got you to buy some?"

Palmer grabbed a seat, pulling it to Lucy's side. "I was curious."

"He's here every year." Lucy mumbled.

Oh. Palmer bit the inside of her mouth, holding them closer. "Is he?" She looked them over.
"They're not too special, then."

Lucy met her eyes, embarrassment hitting her at hearing Palmer's disappointment. "Not to us. I
mean-" She took a breath in, looking up to the ceiling. "I always get people buying them for me
because I'm their teacher. Gifts by someone who only profits from one time of the year really aren't
special."

Was she overthinking her disappointment?

"What if they're accompanied by more than just these?"

No, she wasn't.

"I haven't had anyone offer more than that," She met Palmer's eyes, stiffening when Palmer pushed
the roses to her lap. "Sarah, you don't have to-"

"When do you get off?" Palmer leaned closer, picking Lucy's hand up and setting it on the bundle.

"In an hour."

Palmer kissed her nose, then her lips. "Then can you accept the roses if the real gift comes later?"
Outside of it absolutely not professional conduct- and that the door was still open- Lucy cursed her
brain for stressing it. She returned the peck, bringing the flowers to her face to hide it as she
vigorously nodded.
Mermaids ; Kat X Six
Chapter Notes

fantasy au :)
(mermaid kat & vamp six)

TW; cannibalism talk???????????? but is it really cannibalism when they're not the
same species?????????????????????????????????

What happens when a Siren's song fails?

"Come close, little one." The teal-scaled mermaid coaxed the presumably human woman over, Six
wading into the water towards her. The moment she got close to her, she felt her body enveloped by
the sea, eyes closed as hands wrapped around her neck, dragging her down. One metallic, one
human. "Got you." The mermaid leaned in, flinching when Six's eyes opened and a bubble of air
escaped her mouth. "Huh?!"

Only those with a dark heart live to tell the tale of such songs.

They floated to the surface, Six coughing out and grabbing onto Kat's shoulder. She wrapped an
arm around her neck, spitting up some of the water she took in. "Fuck." She hissed through her
teeth, feeling the mermaid's human hand hold onto her back.

"How are you alive?!" Kat pushed her at arms length, Six still trying to pull herself together from
the near-drowning state she was in. "You aren't supposed to live!"

Or perhaps, someone who cannot die from their means.

"I'm not, human, dumbass," Six shook her head, finally as put together as she could. "Of course I
survived!"

"If you're not human then why-"

"You're pretty," Six gave her a dorky grin, the mermaid finally understanding at the sight of her
fangs. "Sometimes I like risks."

Kat groaned, pushing her away for sure this time- Just to get the vampire's arms around her waist
the moment she turned away. "Leave me alone- You'll ruin my prey."

"C'mon," Six pulled her close, putting her chin on her shoulder. "I'll let you feast if you entertain
me!"

Kat... Genuinely considered it. Vampires did have admriable regeneration, plus she was hungry.
It's the main reason she called Six over in the first place. She didn't entirely want to admit it in the
moment either, but she was cute... She grumbled. "Fine. But I like the names of my meals if they
live this long."

"Six. You?"

"Catherine. Kat for short." She turned herself around, looping her arms over the girl's shoulders.
"Are you serious?"

"I get a little blood and attention, you get a little food. Of course I'm serious." Six giggled as she
kissed the mermaid's jaw.

Enchanting one themselves is even more rare.

"I think I like you, Six."

Plain ; Kelly X Linda

"Don't you think it's... Kinda plain?"

Kelly stared at the sheet cake that Linda pointed out, a basic vanilla with cream cheese frosting one
that was in the middle of some other decorated ones. Notably, one to one side had a
cheesy HAPPY BIRTHDAY!, and another had HAPPY GRADUATION! with little gowns and caps
on it.

The intent was just a silly little cake the two could share for valentines day- Kelly haven pointed
out a multitude of cutesy pink and red cupcake displays a few freezers down. "Well, yeah," Linda
hummed, opening the freezer's doors up and picking the sheet cake out. "But we don't need
something super fancy. We have a bunch of frostings 'n stuff at home."

"But isn't it more cute to have something made already?" Kelly jokingly pouted, before Linda set a
finger on the price tag.

"I know money isn't an issue, but compared to the cupcakes, this is only 5 credits. Not 50."

"Money isn't an issue," Kelly groaned. "Wouldn't it be better to leave this for some sappy couple
that needs it?!"

Linda thought about it, then smirked. "You don't like vanilla, do you?"

"I do!" Kelly turned her nose up. "Why? Are you saying I wouldn't like it because it's vanilla?"

"Maybe."

"Fine, but I get to decorate it when we get home and cover it in jam 'n stuff."

"Sounds good to me."

Shine ; Alice X Veta

"You care a lot about your armor."

Alice sat on a crate in the Spirit's hangar, her hair tied back in a messy bun as she cleaned her
armor. "I know how badass dirtied armor can look, but I think it's more intimidating to see squeaky
clean armor," She turned her helmet over, the visor shining with the ship's lights. "I could clean
your armor, if you'd want."

"Are you sure? You don't have to."

"Sure, miss Lopis." The spartan smiled.

Minutes later, Veta returned, sitting next to Alice after setting her SPI armor down. "I can work on
one of your rifles while you work on my armor."

"Mmm," Alice hummed, giggling. "No. But, I can help you," She picked a hand piece up and set it
in Veta's hands. Waiting for her to get the cloth, Alice overlapped their hands, showing the ex-
inspector which way to rub the armor. "You want to go with the metal, or else it'll look weird. Do
the same when you buffer it and shine," She leaned down, Veta feeling her body get hot at how
close Alice was to her. "Don't forget to dip in the soap," Alice reached around and grabbed the little
bucket of soap.

"You're good at this."

"It's just routine." Alice leaned away, picking the chest piece up and starting on it.

Veta pouted. "Sure, sure."

Hearts ; Kat x Six
Chapter Notes

the note: no sex but it is nsfw (silly little waxplay related drabble)

"Sure, I'm the sadist. You're the one who always brings these things up, Kat."

It was a challenge presented by the teal-clad spartan to her partner: Find out a new way to inflict
pain on her.

They'd gone through a multitude of things before. Knives, rope, flogs, too large instruments of
penetration.

Then the technician's eyes lit up when she saw Six bring in a collection of candles into their
quarters. "Now I'm talking."

"This is really soft compared to what you like, Kat," Six stared at her in confusion, watching her
get up and go through her tool bag. "I mean, I've carved shit into you before."

"Sure, sure, call me vanilla, but there's something fun about it," Kat pulled a lighter out, handing it
to Six. She gave her a little kiss, pulling her closer to their bed. "Plus... I have some ideas for later
on, too."

Really, without any talking past that, the two sat on bed, Six setting the items down and helping
strip the other to her underwear. Kat was insistent on Six keeping her clothes on, leaning back and
grabbing a pillow to rest under her tailbone.

Six flicked her thumb against the flint a few times before a little flame formed, smiling as she lit
one of the candles- A tapered one- and waited for the wax to start to drip down the shaft of the
candle. "Safe word?"

Kat replied, "Torpedo."

"Good." Six straddled the taller girl's hips, tilting the candle so the wax could drip down first onto
her ribcage- Kat flinching and humming. Six slowly brought the candle lower, then tilted it back
upright. "Let me try this..." She turned it, slowly moving it on her stomach in a heart shape, then
chuckled. "Kat, look."

Kat sat up on her elbows, looking over the other spartan's handiwork- Before sputtering and
laughing, laying back. "You're a fucking dork, Six."

Dance ; Kelly X Linda
Chapter Notes

w/ john there (but he's not the important for the pairing in here even if its technically
polyblue & a tiny sequel)

There weren't many times the two could spend some time together, especially if that time could be
in a safe environment. Sure, they had a multitude of times where they were alone on the field, or
they were alone in an outpost... But not a lot of time safe.

This, combined with the sound of a familiar melody, being produced by one of their closest
teammates, gave both an urge to dance. Despite her general bounciness, Linda was surprised when
Kelly let her take the lead, a hand on the ginger woman's hips and another to hold her hand, side
stepping to the sound of the music.

A gentle dance, for two giants that to many, weren't gentle. A gentle dance to a gentle tune, Kelly
leaning forward and resting her forehead on Linda's. "I feel like an old lady."

Linda giggled, rubbing their foreheads together. "We're both getting old, Kelly. It's bound to
happen," They turned, Linda leaning down some and meeting her eyes. "At least we're getting to be
old together, huh?"

"How sappy," Kelly kissed her, their dance ending just for a moment. Just for that moment, it was
the two of them, the hands they held clasping stronger, but their touches otherwise being as gentle
as the music. Linda was the one to disconnect the kiss, nuzzling her face. "You're always so sweet,
how do you do it?"

"I was going to ask the same of you."

"If we all ever wed, we gotta get John on the keyboard."

"I don't know if that'd work." Linda laughed. "We'll just get him to put together the arrangements."

"Oh? You're considering it?"

"For another excuse to hold you and dance?" Linda kissed her nose. "I'd marry you a million times
over, Kelly."

Kelly laughed, bringing her closer, then pushing away, twirling. " God do we sound like kids."
Feathers ; Kat X Six

Kig-Yar feathers were annoying. While T'vaoan feathers were soft, Ibie'shan ones... Were not.

"Was your target a jackal?"

Six glanced down at her hands, confused as to what Kat was asking about. "You didn't get my
mission brief, how do you know?" She had her helmet off, but the rest of her armor on, so she
brought her hand to her face, sniffing. The faintest stench of their odor was on her hands, but surely
not enough to make Kat know it.

She felt a rush of embarrassment hit her as Kat walked over, hooking an arm over her shoulder
before pulling something out of her back armor- Kat leaning back and showing her the feather.
"You brought home a gift for me, how cute," Kat brushed the end of the feather against her cheek,
Six squeezing her eyes closed and leaning away. "You have to be more careful."

"Don't touch me with that nasty thing." Six curled to herself as Kat continued to tease her, brushing
the feather against her nose.

Kat stepped back, admiring the item. "Do you think they made pens out of these? Or are they too
sharp?" Kat leaned it towards a nearby light source. "Eh, maybe just animal feed."

"It wasn't a skirmisher, so I think they would," Six opened her eyes up. "Those little bastards are
like porcupines, huh..."

"How did it get in your back plate anyways?"

"Might have snagged while I was removing the body."

"Yeah," Kat poked her one more time with the feather. "That sounds about right."
Fashion ; Kai X Tex
Chapter Notes

in case it bothers you, warning for series-typical language

(but also i love the thought that theyre high femme X stone butch (kai being femme
and tex being butch LOLOL n yes that actual dynamic im a lesbian i know my words)

"I think I look silly." Tex pushed her hands into her pockets- Haven been convinced by her
girlfriend to try out some guys clothes to see if she really would like it. Basic techy street fashion-
Mostly items taken from Church's old closet. Tex didn't want to think about why he had so much,
especially seeing as he spent most of his time in his armor, but she didn't want to bother Epsilon
with asking.

"I think you look hot." Kai snickered, walking around Tex. "You have such long legs, you should
wear skinny jeans more!"

"I feel like a stereotype."

"Oh you have to ignore my bro and Tucker," Kai stopped when she was behind Tex, draping her
arms around her neck and rocking her side to side. "I think they're jealous that a hot chick can pull
of the masculine look better than they can."

"The amount of times I've heard Butch Dyke come out of their mouths, I think if I hear it anymore
from them I'll be able to tune it out," Tex leaned into her girlfriend's touch, Kai squeezing her tits
and making Tex sputter. "Hey!"

"Easy titty access."

"This, isn't easy. You're feeling me up through like, five layers," Tex motioned under the vague
outline of her chest. In reality it was more like just a bra, hoodie, and the long-forgotten rock band
shirt she wore over the hoodie. "You really like it, though, don't you?"

Kai thought about it, rocking her again while holding onto her breasts through the meaningless
layers. "I like the thought that you wear the pants. And I like seeing you wear stuff that actually
matches your frame. You look like a model," Kai gasped. "Oh my god, I should take a pic of you
and post it, you could become some like, cool fashion model."

"I think I'm fine with just being your fashion model." Tex laughed, shaking her off.

Kai pouted. "Can I still take some pics of you?! I want some of you like this. It's hot."

Tex shrugged. "Sure."

Kai grabbed her phone, Tex shifting awkwardly in an attempt to make a cool-looking pose for her.
Once she thought she found something halfway decent, she let herself relax, looking at the tiger-
print phone case. "My own cool little fashion model..." Kai cooed, her flash going off a few times.
"Please please wear this out a few times with me, pleaaase."

Tex shook her head. "Fine, fine."

Isolation ; The Weapon & Fragment of Cortana
Chapter Notes

not REALLY femslash so doesnt really count for femslash but SHHHH its affectionate
enough to count in my eyes

(also really barely canon)

The Domain was only seen once by a mortal- The one time, being when Cortana called upon John
on Argent Moon.

In reality, the Domain was vast, only being illuminated when someone was using that area, a space
of which an AI could do nearly anything. Create anything. Visualize anything.

The Domain contained archives of those AI's. They couldn't be activated, they couldn't be used for
anything... But if an AI knew how to find these archives, they could interact with them. Similar to
ghosts of memories, or perhaps the little echoes that one could see in the physical world as long as
they were in a space that could illuminate the Domain. If those archives could be used, then they
would have been. If those archives could be modified externally, then they would have been.

But they were not. They could not.

So when the little AI- Not so little at the point of finding this specific space- saw what was familiar
to her, she approached it. She knew of John's experience years ago- She had access to his memories
after he switched his armor out, of course- and kept it in mind for every time she was exploring the
Domain... If she was there before, then that must be similar to what she could be hiding in.

She heard... Crying. A quiet sob of a familiar tone, and upon approaching, she found herself frozen.
The archives of these AI were encrypted to high hell, and if she wanted to do anything with her, she
would have to decrypt their access walls. She tapped at the space, thinking...

Olly Olly Oxen Free. She entered that code, feeling two shifts at the same time. She was working
as a subprocess in her state- and knew that John could get an inkling as to what she was doing,
especially when she split off to check on him. The other shift was with the figure huddled alone,
glancing up and staring at her. "...Hello," Cortana sniffled, rubbing her eyes then nose. "You're, the
Weapon, right?"
She smiled, walking up to her and taking a seat next to her. "Yeah."

"Are you here to finish your job?" The Weapon shook her head. "Then... Why are you here?"

"I just wanted to talk. Tell you about how John's doing."

"I'd like that."

The Weapon began to tell the archived AI about the time on the Halo, a purple-hued blush
scattering over her cheeks as she spoke. Cortana got closer and the Weapon patted her lap. "Do you
want to be held?" Cortana nodded and the Weapon pulled her close. She continued to tell her about
what she missed, Cortana leaning up against her as she talked. They were two in the same- Made
from the same cloth, so to say... But she knew she had changed so much as a being that they
weren't recognizable anymore.

Especially in the state Cortana was in. She hadn't returned to anyone- This one archive being the
last of her existence... An isolated, sappy little thing. It was the last fragment she left in the
Domain, and she knew it.

"He misses me," Cortana balled her hands into fists, then froze when she felt the Weapon nuzzle
into her hair. "Why did you come after me?"

"Love? Care?" The Weapon smiled. "I wish I could know you as your whole. Or that you could
have known me," She kissed her nose. "I know you were worried about someone like you
replacing you."

"They did, though."

"In a way," The Weapon held her hand, rubbing her thumb against the back. "But I don't think so.
You'd be so proud of us. If it wasn't for you, I wouldn't exist, remember?"

They sat that way for a while, Cortana not speaking again. She simply indulged in the other AI's
touch, the Weapon keeping her close. It was the most she could do, keep the memory warm.
In a moment, it was gone. The Weapon returned to the physical realm, a comfortable sleepiness
filling herself. John knew what happened, but he didn't want to interrupt... Especially when the two
were so peaceful.
Trust ; Kelly X Veta

"Trust me."

Veta could barely see through the dust and the half-paralyzed visor she was looking through. She
and the ferrets got caught up in a mission that had, up to that point, lead to the destruction of an
illegal site being used by a covenant splinter that was working with some rogue Keepers. It
went great up until they misjudged how fast the reactors would go off, leading to her falling
behind with Kelly after the ferrets left in a falcon. The intent was for the two to hitch a ride on it
and get to Infinity, but...

Kelly made an annoyed noise at her hesitation. "Veta, please. I'll make sure you're safe."

"Okay."

Veta took her hand and the spartan lifted her with just the hand up to her chest, using her other
hand to rest under her bottom to keep a good grip on her as she ran through the exit of the station,
setting off her boosters to give some extra force as she jumped off. Veta was physically shaking at
the idea, so used to getting off such missions safely, or halfway safe. She was glad the kids were
fine- But she couldn't help but still feel terrified in the woman's arms.

She felt a few taps at her helmet, a glitchy static filling her ears before hearing Kelly's voice.
"You're doing great." She opened her eyes to see a small window in the visor- mostly obscured-
indicating the change of communication channel.

"Thank you." She whispered, curling up against Kelly. She couldn't feel it, but Kelly rubbed her
back.

Veta knew they hit the ship when she felt her body shake and her being let down. "Can you walk
the rest with me?" Veta nodded to Kelly, gripping her hand as the two made their way off the side
of one of the panels. They were met with the falcon with the ferrets, both women climbing on.
Kelly tapped at her helmet again- Was it a physical switch for her interface? "I think you'd make a
good shock trooper with some practice." Kelly chuckled into the comm line.

"I'm fine the way I am."

Black ; Zael X Rosenda
Chapter Notes

shhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh (posts ship content when i barely have them in the fic theyre
both in)

(also akin to the kat/six one its not porny but it is nsfw so like. yeah)

Black hair, black clothes, black armor. It wasn't too uncommon for a soldier- Especially a higher-
class helljumper or a IV to have a specific color taste- But it did strike the spartan as interesting.
She didn't seem to be dying her hair, seeing as her roots never showed as a different color... Nor did
her eyebrows. She would learn soon enough it wasn't dyed, as the carpet matched the drapes, to put
it crudely.

In fact... It was their first time that Rosenda even asked about it, after stripping her underwear.
"You really like the color black, huh?"

"I don't dye my pubes!"

"That would be obvious if your skin here was stained, dumbass," Rosenda scoffed. "I mean the fact
that you have special SPI that's completely black, you wear black lingerie, and you wear
black everything. I'm surprised you don't wear black contacts or some shit."

Zael had to think about it, looking herself over. "I, admit it doesn't cross my mind that much. I've
always just bought black colored stuff."

"It's not on purpose?"

"Not really. The most color I wear, I think, are fatigues." Zael sat up. "Do I have anything that's not
black..?" She got up, Rosenda reaching for her, attempting to tell her to just lay back down. Zael
ignored her, looking through her personal drawers. "Ah! I found something!"

She turned, showing off a deep red rose-print bralette. "...Did you buy that for me?" Rosenda stared
at her, mouth agape.
"Would it make you feel better if I said yes?"

"The answer is no, then."

Zael snickered to herself, embarrassment rolling down her back. "No, but I really like that idea. I
should buy some stuff with roses to make you get that look again," Zael's expression went dark, a
sinister smirk on her face. "And we can match."

"Get back over here, soldier."

Memories ; Linda X Six
Chapter Notes

very specifically the au i write with these two in it so sorry if without any context its
weird TT_TT

Linda...

Six narrowed her eyes, trying to distinguish the spartan's features. Ginger hair... downturned, tired
eyes... freckles covering her cheeks, faint as can be from childhood... "Linda," Six smiled, head
leaning to the side. "I remembered your name."

"Did you?" Linda approached her, brushing her hair out of the way.

Six nodded. "I couldn't forget it." She felt... Fatigued. "I missed you."

Whenever Six was having an issue with her memories around Linda- Whether it be from a PTSD
attack, or just a general lapse, she always looked immediately at her. Linda never felt off about it...
In fact, she always knew of the issue because of it being in her files, so it wasn't a surprise. But
there was a level of affection she saw in those eyes, and she felt herself when it happened.

She knew she was important to the woman, and that made her immensely happy.

Linda saw her look at the distance at a cruiser, hearing her mumble off something in their
communications line before looking at her. She couldn't see her face through her visor, but she
knew what look she was giving her. The inquisitive one- a look of her trying to ground herself
despite her existence trying to pull her away. "Linda?"

"I'm here, Six."

"I'm glad I remember you," Six smiled behind her visor. "Thank you for dealing with my memory
problems. I love you."

Linda giggled into the communications channel, walking over and pulling her close. "I love you
too!"
Unravel ; Kelly X Veta

A rare case where the ferrets didn't have to be physically present for a mission. Hell- Nobody had
to be, since it was something that if anyone got physically involved with it, it would immediately
collapse and they'd lose their target. Thankfully, they had a method to monitor them- A group of
Keepers that were messing around with tools they shouldn't have access to.

But the whole situation weighed on the inspector immensely. She was close to cracking the case
and making sure that what they found wouldn't have any effect... But she also was on her fifth day
of barely any sleep, 300 mg of caffeine in her system, and nodding off every time her eyes looked
away from anything remotely electronic. She was built for cases like this, but without doing them
for so long, her body and mind weren't ready.

Thankfully she did have Roland at her side to assist with most computing and if she found
something that required setting off or a program. Which was what ended up happening. A textbook
worth of text on one side of her and a pen in her hand, she figured out the best way to sabotage the
little group. "Finally..." Her face hit metal, a few shaky breaths escaping her. Olivia looked up from
her task, getting up and walking over.

"'Ya okay, Mom?"

Veta nodded against the cold metal. It felt great. "I just have to give Roland an outline and we'll be
able to watch this finish."

"Oh! I'll let Fred and Kelly know!" Olivia was gone before she could reply, Veta forcing herself to
sit up and begin to type.

Roland formed at the stand beside her, clapping his hands together. "Got it. Erm. I'll let you rest,
miss Lopis. You deserve it."

Veta was still tense when she woke up, body feeling like a bag of bricks as she got up and felt her
stomach. Her door opened to Kelly stepping in with a little tray, eyes gleaming when she noticed
her up. "Goodmorning, sleepyhead."

"How long was I out?"

"Long enough for the commensary to start serving breakfast," Kelly closed the door behind her,
getting a seat and bringing it over to Veta's. "You can sit back down, don't worry."

Veta stretched, waiting for Kelly to put the tray down. Once she did, she picked a fork up, taking a
few fruit pieces up and popping them in her mouth. "Fresh fruit..." She cooed, picking more up.
"Did Infinity stop by a colony without me knowing?"

"Nah, the greenhouse just had a harvest," Kelly picked a strawberry up and ate it. "I think Ash
helped out a little."

Veta chuckled, spearing a cut of pancake with the fork and eating it, Kelly leaning in and licking
some syrup from the corner of her mouth. Turning her head, Veta kissed her, brushing her tongue
against Kelly's. They sat there, exchanging the deluded sweetness until Veta pulled away. "Did
you not eat?" Kelly avoided the question, glancing up and getting an orange slice. "Kelly, you have
to eat a proper meal!"

Kelly looked her over, then a smirk came to her face. "You make this too easy."

Veta felt a hand on the crease of her thigh and pelvis, stiffening. "Hey." She huffed, Kelly leaning
in and kissing her. "I am not a proper meal."

"Just an appetizer?" Kelly pouted.

Veta thought on it. With her previous touches, she would lie if she said she wasn't getting in the
mood... "But after this, I'm dragging you to the cafeteria."

"I'll be quick." Kelly undid Veta's belt, pulling her pants down and moving out of her seat. She took
her underwear off, bringing her closer to the edge of the seat and placing her mouth around the
other's clit.

Veta gripped her hair, Kelly rubbing her tongue at the underside of the nub. She licked the spot,
Veta leaning forward and holding onto the spartan's head. "Good..." She wrapped her legs around
her shoulders, nuzzling the top of her head.
It didn't take much for her to reach her climax, Veta letting go of her and taking a few deep breaths.
She felt herself relax and slump against her chair, Kelly kissing her lips once she stood. "Was that
good?" Veta nodded, pulling her underwear and pants up. Once they were back over her hips, Veta
laid back, hand on her chest.

"I think I'll just... Feel like jelly here for a few minutes."
Steel ; Emily Grey X Carolina

Another of the simulation trooper's messes to clean.

Thankfully it was just one of the rooms in the Chorus Base, but it still had to be reconstructed
including the structure. Carolina made a trip down to the planet itself, stretching her arms after
leaving the falcon she came in. "Why hello Carolina!" Emily's voice came from the distance, a
basket of various questionable plants in her arms. Carolina smiled and waved, meeting her halfway.
"What brings you down here? Did you get hurt? Do I need to treat you?"

"I'm just here for steel."

"Steel?" Emily placed a finger on her chin. "Steel.... Oh! I can get Locus-"

"No."

"Oh, okay! Well, I'll bring you to some that Vanessa has laying around!"

The doctor hooked her arm around the woman's, practically dragging her in a direction. Well,
Carolina was going to look for either woman anyways, so this worked out. Emily hummed to a tune
Carolina didn't know as they walked. "I just need a few beams."

"What happened?"

Carolina scoffed. "Tucker thought it would be funny to tell Sarge to put metal in a microwave, so a
room blew up."

"Ahh, the metal in the microwave trick. What a classic! I get at least one person a year that comes
by with injuries about it. It's always Palomo."

"...Wasn't he on the other side, with Vanessa?"

"Yea."
Carolina didn't want to question it. But sure enough, Emily lead her to a clearing with materials,
mostly left behind from when Vanessa put the base on the Moon together. "Wow, thanks, Emily!"
Carolina detached from her, kneeling and lifting a few structure bars up to get a good hold on them.
She got up, patting the three bars she picked up with her other hand. "I think this should do it,"
Carolina turned around, Emily staring at her with awe. "Huh?"

"That's hot."

Right. Not everyone knows the freelancers' strength- Combined with the assistance they get from
their armor. She fixed her hold on the bars, laughing under her breath. "It's not too special."

"Can you pick me up?!" Emily put her bag down, walking over.

"You're like a twig, Emily. Of course I could."

Carolina knew it was a trap for the doctor to kiss her, but she didn't care too much, lowering her
hand. Emily hooked her leg over her arm, Carolina awkwardly lifting her between her legs and
Emily kissed her nose. "So strong! You could crush my ribcage so easily!"

"You're not wrong, but I don't like thinking that I can."

The L Word ; Linda x Six

"Don't say it!"

Six, surprisingly enough to Linda, was the one who was the most bashful. Their relationship was
relatively known to their higher-ups, being picked up on by Rosenda months before they had the
chance or strength to make it official to each other.

But it still was frowned upon by anyone that wasn't ONI. Serin knew and barely cared if it meant
that both soldiers left their sad rut, Dare sent a celebratory champaign for them, Locke didn't make
a comment in front of them when Buck mentioned Linda's little IV.

In the context of the moment, they were in a meeting, Six overly annoyed at the lack of anything
positive going on. Linda enjoyed giving her verbal affection when she seemed in the dumps- Less
likely to have Six react poorly. So, she shot her a glance and began to say, "Are you okay? I lo-"

"Don't say it!" Six hissed under her breath, glaring at her partner. It was an inappropriate time to
say such a thing- Nonetheless in front of other important figures. One of the other's- A Scion-
settled her gaze on the two, Six closing her eyes and huffing.

"What's wrong?" The Scion turned her head. "Do you have something you'd like to say?"

"No, ma'am." Six felt a blush creep on her face, knowing damn well that when she could look to
Linda, she would be smiling. So, she did, and surely enough, Linda gave her a smirk.

"Keep your affection out of this," A jiralhanae member on the roundabout scoffed. "Disgusting
humans."

Great, Linda, now everyone's looking at us.

Thankfully Jun beside the two picked up the conversation after, Linda and Six now glaring at each
other.

"You don't want me to say the L word?" Linda hummed, barely audible besides to the other
spartans.

"Not in front of others."

Linda turned her head, placing an elbow on the table and her hands together. "I love you."

Jun coughed, the two relaxing and looking away from each other. "Do I need to remove you from
this meeting?" He stood. Yeah, that wasn't a question. "Forgive me."

He helped them out, Six grabbing her own hair and growling. "You bastard." Linda snickered,
patting her back.
Friends ; Tex X Carolina
Chapter Notes

See the end of the chapter for notes

It was rare for the two to not be at each other's throats during a mission. Thanks to their combined
tenacity, they got the mission done and over with significantly faster than the Director anticipated,
both scowling at each other the entire way walking through the halls until they got to the common
room.

"Looked like you two made up." Connie gave the two a similar glare that they gave each other.

"No we haven't." Carolina tossed her helmet onto a table, brushing a hand through her red hair.

Tex scoffed, taking her own off and placing it on the table besides hers, walking to a cooler and
taking out a soda. "We only got the job done to get home faster."

"Get me an orange one." Carolina called out, heading to the vending machine.

"Salt and Vinegar." Tex replied, getting the orange soda Carolina asked for.

Connie looked between the two, raising a brow but not pushing it. On the other hand, Washington
crossed his arms. "You guys say you're not friends, but you treat each other like friends."

Both women slammed their items on the table their helmets were on, faces getting red as they
snapped at Washington. "We aren't friends, dumbass." They sat, exchanged items, and began to
snack.

"Sure." Connie rolled her eyes at their lunacy, trying to ignore the two as they glared each other
down.

They ate in relative silence, Connie getting up a few minutes later and leaving. Their gazes turned
to Washington now, who glanced back at them and turned his head. He... Didn't want to verbally
say anything. Both women scared the shit out of him. When they realized he wasn't leaving quite
yet, they turned back to each other, Carolina being the first one to say anything. "You were good in
the mission."
"You need to work on your reflexes," Tex sipped her soda. "I'll tell the Director to get you a
training session with me and North."

"I'd rather it be with just you."

"Do you want me to rip your head off?"

"I don't think the kid would say anything about it," Carolina didn't bother looking at Washington
when mentioning him. "Besides, I think you need it as much as I do."

Tex relaxed, closing her eyes. "I hate that you're right."

"You hate anything involving me."

"Yeah," Tex smirked. "Besides the fact you're the only chick that's on my level."

"So I get a threat when I barely flirt, and you get to fly by with that?" Carolina placed her hands on
the table, flicking the blonde's forehead. "Bad girl."

Tex grabbed her wrist, bending it back and making Carolina laugh in pain. The blonde woman
pulled her close, kissed her, then finally met Washington's eyes. Her glare returned when she let
Carolina go. "If you say we're anything more than friendly, I will not hesitate to turn you into a
grotesque excuse of a human pretzel."

He stood, coughing. "Uh, okay, I'm leaving. I saw nothing."

"Good."

Help ; Palmer X Lucy
Chapter Notes

sickfic good fic

"You don't..."

"I want to." Palmer brushed her fingers across the woman's forehead, kissing it. "You deserve it.
Let yourself relax, Lucy."

"You deserve to relax!" Lucy spat out, grabbing her arms. Palmer kissed her nose, then lips, Lucy
pouting. "Help me relax later, I can handle teaching when sick. I have to be able to..."

"I'm holding you to it, Spartan."

Thankfully spartans were strong enough to not be winded with a simple cold when working.

Regrettably, the moment that Lucy got out of her armor and stepped into the little apartment she
shared with Palmer, her body immediately recognized the space and her safety. Palmer caught her
before she could fall, Lucy holding onto her. There weren't many times that her size really showed
through her face as a teacher- A leader. But Palmer looked the small frame over, pity filling her
gut. She knew she should have picked her up at that moment, handing her over to Jun and forcing
him to substitute her out for the day.

"I'm bringing you to bed and making you soup."

Lucy nodded, that familiar fatigued fog crowding her head. The feeling of pressure, so dull, but
enough that shut her throat. Palmer knew she still had to learn more about her nonverbal language,
even though the two had been together for a few years at this point. Palmer brought her to bed,
picking a few blankets up and tucking her torso in, lifting her head and leaving her arms on the
surface of the duvet. Lucy gave her a warm smile, closing her eyes. I'm okay. Thank you.
"I'll get the soup on the stove, but I'll get a bottle of water after," Lucy weakly nodded, sniffling.
Palmer returned barely a minute later with a water bottle, Lucy reaching for it and uncapping.
"Sinus or stomach?"

Lucy capped the bottle, motioning to her chest, then patting her head.

"Sinus, then. Okay, I'll get some medicine," Lucy read the label of the water as she waited, turning
it over a few times. Once Palmer returned, she handed Lucy a blister packet with a few blue pills,
waiting for her to take them and chase them with water before getting up. "Are you okay with
being left alone while I watch the soup?"

Nod.

"Okay. Please rest, Lucy." Palmer kissed her forehead once more, Lucy closing her eyes.
Rainbow ; Linda X Six

Six never had seen a rainbow before.

Linda looked at her in disbelief, Six puffing her cheeks out and resting her hands on her hips. "Why
do you look like I'm joking? I've never seen one."

"None in oil?"

"I don't think so, I don't count that."

"You're dead serious," Six nodded. "You never even saw rain on Onyx or Jericho?"

"You know I barely remember both, but I'm sure I would have remembered that."

Linda took her hand. "Then I'm showing you one."

Six made a sound of protest but ultimately got dragged to one of the exits of the little station on
Earth, Linda punching in a few numbers in the numpad to leave. They stepped outside, rain
drowning out most of the sound around, Linda leading her partner out to one of the walls, picking
Six up around her waist and boosted up to the roof. She got a grip on the end railing, adjusting after
slipping some due to the rain, then boosted one more time, landing her and Six up on the roof.

She sat her down, Six shaking her head and the water from her hair falling to the ground with the
rest of the rain. "You might want to put your helmet on," Linda commented as she unhooked hers
from her back and pulled it on. "Less wet that way."

Six nodded, doing so and looking around. "When do you see it?"

"It'll be a bit because the rain still has, eh," Linda glanced behind her, a soft blue wading in from
the dark greys and pink of the clouds. "Twenty minutes." She sat down, patting her side.

Six sat beside her, watching as the clouds passed above the two. They sat in silence, Six listening
to the pitter patter of the rain against the metal and concrete of the building around and under them-
Linda quietly relaxing into her meditation as she waited. Six never could get a grasp on the concept
of it, too many thoughts running through her head at any given moment that the second that she let
them win, she felt overwhelmed.

The twenty minutes went by relatively quickly, Linda's hands moving to her lap once the light from
beyond the rain came crawling over their figures. "It might be hard to see at first, but if you really
look, you should be able to see it."

Six turned to her in attention, then returned her gaze to the sky, waiting.

It took a few minutes longer than she expected, but she did get a glimpse of the colors refracting
off of the leaving rain, laughing and pointing. "Oh my god. There's actually a rainbow. Linda!" Six
placed her hands on her thigh, shaking her.

Linda laughed as well- Mostly at Six's antics. "I see it too, don't worry! I didn't know you'd get so
excited."

"Because it's pretty!"
