Biotechnica, the gold standard for corporate
behavior, or are they? My recent expedition into
the remaining Redwood forest has revealed a
secret testing facility deep in the woods. This
facility was looking for life extension treatments
but ended in a virus that killed most brain
function in the host. While there I discovered
Biotechnica Internal Affairs officers, their devices
with details on the function of the facility and
staff, and their bodies. As my team and I moved
through the facility we managed to escape
through a secret elevator, and met one of the
scientists responsible, while he seemed to be
a good man he knew that he was doomed and
assisted us in escaping, where we ran into a more
dangerous mutation of the virus that was swiftly
ended by the cure.

background as a police car with blaring sirens and flashing lights kareens down the highway with spike
leaning out the window firing a rifle at a carful of Lawbreakers. The music intensifies “Spike, the big bad
Spiiiiike, Spike the bounty Huntaaaaaah!”
Wrapping up this months high notes on the series the announcers voice Drowns out the cacophony
of noise in the background as a montage of Spike and crew are seen kicking down doors, apprehending
criminals and dispensing 7.62mm hot street justice.
“This month Spike and members of the popular band 30 inches of blood have taken to bounty hunting
and have apprehended 2 of Night Cities most Heinous Criminals. Cypher and Charlie the cop killers.”
The video cuts to scenes of the two battered criminals being hauled into the police station. After they
are forcibly thrown into cells and crying for mercy “We didn’t do anything! Spike let us out, we will never
do it again we are sorry!” The crys fall on deaf ears as spike looks into the camera and smiles. “Shouldnt
of broken the law, Assholes!”
The announcers voice comes back as the montage in the background resumes, showcasing various
fire fights and high speed chases.
“Stay tuned next month as Spike tracks down and eliminates more of night cities most wanted list!”
The screen begins to fade to black as the theme kicks back up.
“Spike the big bad Spiiiike, Spike the Bounty Huntaaaaaah!”

HOW THE ROCKER

ROCKED NIGHT CITY
A new arrival to Night City, a rocker by the name of Spike, has been causing waves throughout the city and has quickly
risen to the top of the screemsheets, I recently decided to investigate this phenomenon in an attempt to help the people
see just how far and wide the effects the rocker had on a personal level. I came under fire for interviewing enemies of
Spike and going into known terrorist organizations, but this piece’s purpose has not changed from when it was just a
thought in my mind and I intend on honoring my neutrality.
I started this investigation as something to simply see if there was anything more to the stories in the screamsheets
last month; as a fan, it seemed like the amount of flak you were getting was unfair. So I contacted Mr. Rator, who was
more than willing to provide me with information on Spike. I understand he was a detractor. Still, I was more than
willing to meet with those who saw something more with Spike, but the good actor Morgan Freeman is hard to get a
hold of on a good day.
I believe that first and foremost, I must explain my meeting with the Dawnbringers. The Dawnbringers and I are
not associates, I don’t agree with anything they do. But they are a splinter of the Reckoners, who I was looking to
meet with. My visit wasn’t a social call, nor was it an attempt to join. I just needed to know who to speak to in the
Reckoners. I was hoping I would be in and out with a contact in my agent, nothing more than a simple transaction, but
the Dawnbringers are a strange group and I needed to speak with Joris Bronson himself. I’m not proud of that
moment, but I managed to get my information and leave before he decided I wasn’t worth keeping alive. Why
did I need to speak with the Reckoners? Because I had seen one hanging off of the Rockers arm, and I
wanted to see what she thought of the man. I had no contacts with the Reckoners, but I knew
that the Dawnbringers could be bartered with. I’ve placed my experience with the
Dawnbringers at the end of the article. Feel free to watch it and make your decision
on if I want to be there.
I understand that my first choice of interviewee wasn’t the best, but it was one of
two things I believe are essential: a view that many don’t agree with and one that
could lead me to more information. We spoke about his experiences with Spike,
and he showed me what he knew about the Rocker. Still, a good investigator
never looks at just one side of any story, so I went to meet with fans of Spike,
including a Captain of the NCPD who shall remain anonymous for everyone’s safety. A fantastic man, a bit of an
expensive taste in food but I was more than willing to pay what I needed to meet with the man. He gave me some insight
into the Rocker from a more positive light, and I got some genuinely good ideas from him. Honestly, he was the most
helpful person in this investigation. I didn’t need to follow some strict no-cyber policy, there was no need
to bribe door guards or dodge shrapnel from a terrorist cell leader. I also met with a bandmate of Spike,
Eva’Reddy, who spoke of her thoughts on Night City, Spike, and some other topics. What I got at the end of
all of this is that for the most part, Spike seems to be a positive effect on the people he deals with, helping
them with specific jobs or getting into a new scene.
If I wanted clout, I would’ve spoken with Spike directly. If I were in this for simply hurting Spike’s image,
why would I allow him the first word when I can merely confront him and upload his reaction to the
datapool myself? I wanted the truth. I still want the truth. I don’t see Spike as some evil doer, or someone
that needs to be locked away. Hell, I don’t even dislike Spike, even now. He’s definitely a major player and
someone who knows how to speak to people. The Spike I was searching after wasn’t the man, the mortal
Rockerboy with a double-necked guitar. I was searching for Spike the Idea, the force that can, in the same
motion, convince a man to throw down his gun and convince another to spring to action. I didn’t accept his
offer for an interview because I’m still searching at the time of writing this. There’s something special in
this Rocker, something that comes once a generation. The ’20s had Johnny Silverhand, we’ve got Spike,
and I wanted to be the first to document the effects this force has had on the city. Not just the ones
that are public, but the effects that ripple through the city, the forgotten aftershock. This was never
supposed to be any kind of hit job, nor was it a play for fame. Controversy sells, but I prefer the truth.
Spike, if you’re reading this, I’m still open to having that interview. I would genuinely love to hear your
side of all of this. I know a nice sandwich place in Little Europe, should be right up your alley. I don’t doubt
that at the end of the day you do more good than harm, not for a second. I was looking for the Spike your fans saw, the
one that gets into firefights on your behalf, the Spike that went from nothing to 3IB’s face in a matter of months. I didn’t
accept your offer because I wasn’t ready to meet you yet. I hadn’t found my piece, and I didn’t want to come in unprepared
and asking half-baked questions, not really sure of what I was looking for. Hopefully, you understand where I’m coming
from, if you want me to stop after this then so be it, but my intention was never to harm your image.

The once benevolent Biotechnica seems to be shifting its focus from restoring mother
nature to destroying her work. With a recently revealed program Biotechnica has been
exposed to be developing new cyberware. Not just any cyberware though, a set of
speedware that has driven its test subjects to the point of insanity.
Recently N54 was able to uncover some footage of this new program and its
dangerous outcomes. We want the city streets to be safe so we dug into this terrifying
footage to find out what is happening behind those sealed gates at biotechnica facilities.
As you can see the products are a success but at what cost? The company who once
specialized in protecting mother nature and repopulating her lands is not investing in
the systems that are leading humanity down the path to destruction. The new product
seems to lead to severe cyberpsychosis.
A failed test led to an escaped person who had to be hunted down by a group
of edgerunners hired by the company. A mission according to my sources that was
successful and led to the recovery of the asset in question. Hopefully to be terminated.
With corporate greed at the helm, who knows what might actually happen?
N54 contacted the PR department of Biotechnica in an attempt to allow them to
share their side of the story. The response we received is on screen now. Why are they
hiding this project? Is it safe? And why are they turning away from their once admirable DEAR

Morse and I’m more than just the prettiest face you’ve seen. If I can see it, I can plant a bullet in it. I
know my guns and people really, really like watching me use ‘em.

I noticed you talked about your parents in this month’s “Dear Eva”. Why don’t you tell us more
about them?

Oh...Uh, I was raised in the streets by a half empty can of Smash and a wet sock with 4 holes in it
where you would least expect them. Next question.

Tell me, Evarette, you come from a quite successful family. Both of your parents are well
established in the Militech company. So tell us, why did you decide to enroll in the Militech Cadet
Corps?

Ah shit, you already know that part? Can I change my last answer? No? Fuck it.

I wasn’t some kid gushing with patriotic duty, or anything...After all my years basically living in a safe
room, the Cadet Corps sounded like they would be an adventure. I wasn’t completely wrong either.

Now, from battle bunny, to brand ambassador for various different companies, how did that ever
happen?

Nobody forgets their first time. I’d only been in the city a few days tagging along with my roomie for
some paying work. He’s seen me walk through a lot and one day he spotted a store selling Bulletproof
brand clothing. Comfortable shit, and the first outfit that I had ever truly bought for myself. I didn’t even make it out of the store. Some
Viper assholes came in to shake everyone down and, well, the security footage made it to the city datapool somehow and I found an
audience who enjoyed watching me be a badass.

A few days later I had an easy stack of eddies just wearing their brand of clothes out on the town. A few weeks after that, somebody else
got an award winning idea that maybe I could make their guns look good too. Now here we are.

So tell us, what does a star such as yourself like to do in her spare time? I know you’ve been seen with other adult industry stars at
the Antiques Roadshow Auction hosted by Donk Diddler.

Most of the time I’m just standing somewhere to improve the ambience, which is infinitely better than being shot at by some chromed up
ganger by any measure. Other times I’m demo’ing the newest tools hitting the markets to corpo investors.

The time that’s left...eh, it’s movies and video games crashed out at the condo with some of my chooms. It might surprise a lot of people
but I think taking a few hours to just do nothing is fuckin’ nice sometimes.

Now, in this busy world, with all of it’s brands and stars, there must be one who captured the eye of young Eva. Who would you say
inspired you the most?

I don’t really get into idol worship. Comic book characters, actors in movies, it’s all fake. None of them can do what I can do here and
now....I find the opposite to be a better guide. See how those people fuck it all up, and learn from that so the same doesn’t happen to you.

With the recent passing of Angel, the face of the Continental Brands product line “Liquid by Angel,” has there been any talks of
expanding your horizons? What’s in the future for Eva Reddy?

I don’t plan on signing up with any corp in particular, honestly. I know a few that would take me but I don’t like being limited or
having somebody else making my decisions so much. As for the future, I have been learning some new skills! Seems good field-ready
pharmaceuticals are hard to find these days, so I’m filling that demand with ‘Impakt’ brand lifesavers. Stim, Speedheal, even Surge, it’s all
brewed up by yours truly right here and it is not going to be widely available.
