BARRANQUILLA CARNIVAL

When it happens?
It is celebrated before Ash Wednesday, which usually happens in
the months of February or March. However, the party is so big that
it has a pre-carnival, which begins in mid-January.
Source
It has its remote origin in the Carnival that came to America from
Spain. That's where its spirit of renewal and change comes from,
similar to the one that animated these festivals in Europe. The first
Carnival celebrated in the city is lost in history more than a century
ago, when Barranquilla was a small town.
Where is it celebrated?
The main stage of the carnival is Vía 40, an industrial avenue where
the Battle of Flowers (Saturday), the Great Parade (Sunday) and the
Folk Tradition Parade (Monday) take place.
As it is celebrated?
In the four days that the Carnival of Barranquilla lasts, moments
awaited by all are experienced, such as the Battle of Flowers, which
consists of a parade of floats, troupes, dance groups and costumes.
