1.Material/equipment/space required:
A tub, a wide range of dinosaurs, 4 cups of sand (from the sandpit), natural material that will include:
medium branches, dry/wet sand, water, and rocks and pebbles.
This experience will be set up on the grass area under a tree.
It is a quiet area where there is minimal congestion.

2. Reason for chosen play experience (e.g. observed child’s interest, teacher initiated, community, child
development):
My experience plan was founded on children's observed interest in sensory play with set sand and
dinosaurs.
In order to help young children develop their cognitive, physical, and social skills, sensory activities are
frequently used.
3. Learning Goals: (what you hope the child/ren will achieve)
The sensory play experience with dinosaurs promotes knowledge acquisition through investigation,
curiosity, problem-solving, and creativity. It promotes the growth of language and motor skills and aids
in the formation of brain connections.

This play experience supports Physical development (fine motor movements) as the children will hold
items and manipulate them (e.g. play with dinosaur toy)

This play experience supports Cognitive development as the children will use objects and materials to

2. Reason for chosen play experience (e.g. observed child’s interest, teacher initiated, community,
child development):
My experience plan was founded on children's observed interest in the library corner and
dramatic play.
For this experience I wanted to incorporate the child’s voice (their interest in playing ice cream
shop ), a teacher-initiated approach (introducing a new play space) and a play space that
allowed for child development (borrowing, fintion/non-fiction and public places, inside/outside
voices) to inspire them to learn.

3. Learning Goals: (what you hope the child/ren will achieve)


Helping to set up a pretend play library, so children use their imagination.
Dramatic play has many advantages, including teaching youngsters how to resolve conflicts and
assisting them in developing their creative problem-solving abilities alongside their peers.
Children are given the chance to act out their emotions, make decisions, and develop new
connections with themselves while exploring self-empowerment.

This play experience supports Social development as the children will:

an ice cream shop.
Children have shown an interest in play-acting in an ice cream shop multiple times near a raise
fence area.
For this experience I wanted to incorporate the child’s voice (their interest in playing ice cream
shop ), a teacher-initiated approach (introducing a new play space) and a play space that
allowed for child development (money, trading, maths/counting) to inspire them to learn
numeracy.
My experience plan was founded on children's observed interest in dramatic play in regards to
an ice cream shop.

Encourages the growth of social interaction skills as youngsters engage in social play with one
another and take on a variety of roles.
Through producing and presenting their ideas while using language and new phrases to
communicate with the other children engaged, such as "That will be $1.20 thank you," the
children are also expressing their creativity and developing their cognitive and linguistic abilities.
By taking on roles in social play and using this to communicate any underlying sentiments or
ideas they may have, also encourages emotional development.
Due to the children's involvement with a variety of resources and items of various sizes, this
holistically encompasses the development of fine motor skills.

To develop the children's social skills and all the associated developmental components,
and to build on this by presenting a wide range of ideas, including concepts like
creativity, social-emotional learning, and language and literacy development. to expand
on the children's existing social abilities by offering fresh ideas and a brand-new social play area
for them to discover.
6. Which National Quality Standard/s relates to this play experience?
Through this social play area, it is possible to introduce a variety of concepts, such as creative
expression, give the kids a choice and flexibility in the activity, help them recognize words and
letters through writing and visual cues, help them develop negotiation and collaboration skills,
and help them develop both receptive and expressive oral language as they interact with one
another and learn about their social relationships.

agency e.g. encouraging the child by acknowledging efforts, asking open-ended questions
(provide possible examples), using Auslan signs to support communication, ensure tubs of

Asking the children what kinds of flavors ice cream we could make – encouraging the children to
make their own flavors of ice cream using the sand and ice mold.
Have materials readily available so children can choose from and are aware of what is available.
Allowing children to use the resources in their own way. Giving them the setup/resources and
allowing for open-ended interpretations and use
Asking the children questions to help with problem-solving e.g. “What can I use for....?” gives
them the option to think about what materials and equipment can be used and for them to be
