NOTES ON BGA BOARD AND IC101 ON THE BGA


BOARD REPLACEMENT
When replacing the BGA board or IC101 on the BGA board, be

SECTION 2
SERVICE MODE

Note on the service mode screen: 2-2. DENSITY ADJUSTMENT PROCEDURE WHEN

2-4. BUTTON/FAN/LED OPERATION CHECK When all 12 buttons are pressed, all button indications on the screen
light in red.
The operation of each button and fan can be checked.

Procedure
1. Start the service mode. (Refer to Section 2-1.)
2. Select “Button Test” using the [ARROW] buttons and press the
[ENTER] button.
The following screen is displayed.

When the checks of all buttons are completed without problem, the
initial screen of the service mode is displayed and “OK” is displayed
under “Button Test”.

Fan operation check


The fan is rotated by force during “Button Test”.

LED operation check


“Access LED” is lit during “Button Test”. When all buttons are
pressed, “Access LED” flashes.

Button operation check


Press the button on the operation panel of this unit. The pressed
button indication on the color monitor lights in yellow.
The following screen shows that the [MENU] button is pressed.

The head position returns to the initial state when this button is
pressed.
• f button:
The head position moves upward when this button is pressed.
• F button:
The head position moves downward when this button is pressed.
• [MENU]button:
The head motor aging starts when this button is pressed.
When the Cancel button is pressed during aging, the operation
is discontinued.
• [ENTER] button: The electric current of head motor is switched
when this button is pressed. The electric current is switched as
follows every time the button is pressed.

The “CHECK SUM” value displayed on the screen is an
example. It varies depending on the firmware.
14. Turn on the power and disconnect the power cord from the
receptacle.
