A Letter To Superman

To
The Superman

Dear Superman,
“Ghkhkhlmhkah 2ed2fd2f2dgfcgbfgvf fgvcfvgf”
Can you read above statement? Certainly not. This is the thing that 13.7 percent
of people around the globe read when they see any newspaper or book according
to a website “Macrotrends” in 2019, since they’re out of knowledge to read.
Though this statistic seems less, but the main fact is majority literates are
occupied in developed countries and so rate of illiteracy is huge in under
developed countries which is ultimately leading them incapable of coming out
from the vicious cycle of poverty.
Hope this far you have guessed what I will be talking about today; The Illiteracy.
Illiteracy is one of the global impediments of today’s world, no exception goes for
my community.
In my childhood, I was a freaking fan of cartoon. There I met you for the first
time. Being grown up in a under-middle developed countries, I had to see many
obstacles which my country people had to endure. Since then, I had an ambition
to be like you and solve the problems of my community with super powers.
Today, I am lucky enough because queen's commonwealth essay competition has
provided me the opportunity to write a letter to you and let you know the people
of my community badly needs you.
Now, you can ask me two questions. Why am I requesting you to come forward
to solve a problem like illiteracy? and how you can make it possible? You may not
be acknowledged but you have a huge fan base in our community, most of whom
are children and teenage. You will be the best option to remove the problem of
illiteracy using the popularity as well as you also have a passion in making the
world a better place.
Now, how you can make it possible? As I mentioned, your popularity can be used
as a big weapon to captivate the children towards school. You can build schools
and colleges in my locality. You can construct roads and bridges for easier
transportation. Distribution of free books and necessary educational items can
also be done among the students from economically weakened background.
Most of the laborers of our country work for dawn to dusk. That’s why Evening
training sessions can be taken for them just to make them minimum literate
which a citizen needs to acquire. Here, Elderly aged people can also be included in
this programme, since Learning knows no age which has been clearly prove by Raj
Kumar of India, being the oldest MA in economics in India at 97.
Another important step to captivate people towards books is you can set up
libraries where people of all ages will be facilitated with different knowledge-
based books to fill up their thirst of knowledge in any field they prefer.
You can set up vocational training centers for the women and youths to make
them trained in various working fields and so they can work in industries and even
can be sent to other countries as foreign workers. In this way, they will no more
be a burden to community rather they would contribute in remittance
immensely.
Another main reason of illiteracy is many children of my community suffer from
malnutrition. That’s why you can set up medical facilities for them where their
problem will be consulted and necessary medical services and medicines for free
of cost will be provided for them. Food supply has also to be ensured.
Quality education system demands quality teachers. If the coach isn’t high-
minded then what can be expected from the learners? Alongside, teaching is also
a noble profession. That’s why you can set up teacher’s training center.
Unemployed literate youths can easily be employed by training them in these
centers. With golden tutors, today’s student will sprout into tomorrow’s golden
citizens. In this way, you can immensely contribute to reduce illiteracy in my
community.
I am humbly requesting you to stand by our side to prove superheroes not only
exist in fancy or movie theatres but also in real life. Hope my words will make you
thought a least a bit.
Best regards,
Abid
