What should really be an ideal society? Is there really a standard of an ideal society? How could
we improve our nation? As a student, how can I contribute in the existence of an ideal society?
These are the questions that is running on my head right now. Not just for academic output,
but because I am a citizen who cares for the better of our society. When I think of the word
ideal society, a lot of things are running in my head. Financial stability, better health assistance,
better and affordable education for all, good government, responsible citizens and unity of
every unit of society. These are the things I could associate with ideal society. At a young age, I
saw the existence of poverty in our country. And when I say poverty, I’m not only pertaining to
financial scarcity but also with the lack of proper support of the government and inequality of
the societal mainstream. As I grew up, I learned that the society where I belong still lacks of the
standard for a better environment for everyone.
For me, an ideal society is where people are free to live peacefully. Where each family can ear
an adequate amount of food every day. Where each individual will not starve and never sleep
with empty stomach. An ideal society is where every children can have an equal opportunity to
be taught in school and have a decent job in the future. Where children can happily go to
school with their friends and enjoy their learning times. Where every students can have a bright
future ahead of them and no more students that will waste their future because of drug abuse.
An ideal society is the declining violence and crime cases that is a result of financial, knowledge
and moral slackness. Where people can peacefully walk in street without worrying for thieves
and criminals. Where people will not do anything bad just to earn a living. An ideal society is
where every individual can have a healthy life through free or affordable checkups. Where the
records of malnutrition is addressed and the health safeness of everyone is prioritize. An ideal
society would be the full support of the government to the people’s need. A government free
from corruption and selfish officials. Where people can trust their life and future with the help
of government. Where leaders are transparent, accountable, caring and loving to the people
and the society. And an ideal society is the unity of everyone living in it. Where people can
trust each other, help each other and make a better society for everyone. These are my ideal
society.
However, nobody’s perfect. And an ideal society will never be a perfect society. Now that the
world is constantly changing and improving, the society’s need is also increasing. People are
becoming more greedy on power and wealth. Money is the need for better education. And
people are becoming more selfish for their own good. That is why, I am fully aware that my
ideal society is too far from the reality. But, I’m not saying that I would do nothing. As a concern
teenager and a citizen in this country, I will do my best to achieve my ideal society. I know I
can’t address the issue of poverty, and I can’t make all children attend school. I can’t also pay
for hospital bills for everyone and I will never stop the crimes that is happening. I’m just a
student with dreams and hoping for the better of our society. A student who is making her best
to develop skills that will help the country. A student who is fully aware of issues in the society
with an urge to help addressing those issues. I’m just a student who understand that we need a
change in our society. A teen who is willing to give her best for the future of our society. I’m just
a student, a teenager, a simple girl. And yet, I could contribute in achieving an ideal society. I
could create poem, poster song or even letters conveying my ambitions for our society. I could
use the social media to distribute my thoughts. I could also make a campaign or advocacy with
the aim of making plans to improve the society. Now that we are in the internet era, this is the
time where I could best use the social media for my campaign and advocacies pertaining to
societal improvement. I’m sure there are also a lot of silent people who also dream the same
thing. And with the help of social media, I could communicate with other people who are also
dreaming for change. With them, we could start planning on the things that should be done to
have our ideal society. We could spread awareness to everyone that the key to our dream
society lies on our hands, the people. Also one of my contribution in achieving an idealistic
society as a student is simply working hard on my studies. For me, education and knowledge
will be a great help for the society. I could be one of those professionals who are working hard
to provide service for the people. I could someday serve the society with compassion and love
for the country. My skills and knowledge will be my asset to help the society better.
For me an ideal society is seeing people’s smiles and hearing children’s laughter. Where
everyone can feel the safeness and security. Where everyone can feel the love and empathy.
Where everyone is capable of being simply happy. Yes, I’m just a teenager, a student and a girl.
But I have a great ambition for the country. A girl that wants a better society for everyone. A girl
who is studying hard so that I could serve the society with my knowledge and skills. It will be a
long process, but everything will be possible if we would start doing something for it. And right
now, I am doing my best to learn and developed character and skill so that I could contribute in
achieving a better society.
