GENERAL RULES

1. The contest is open to all bona fide senior high school students at PHINMA-Araullo University
2. The contest is divided into three parts: Elimination Round, Semi-Final Round, and
Final Round
3. The elimination round will be conducted at the cluster level. This means that all
students shall participate through their Cluster class.
4. The semi-final round will be conducted at the strand level. The top two highest
scorers among the qualifiers in the elimination round will represent their program
in the final round
5. The final round will be conducted at the Grade level. The highest scorer
among the semi-final qualifiers across the programs will be declared as the
winners.
6. The contest covers the topic of COR 006 Statistics & Probability
7. To avoid disruption of classes, the contest will be conducted during the COR 006
schedule respectively following the schedule below:

ELIMINATION ROUND (CLUSTER LEVEL)


1. The elimination round consists of a 20-item multiple-choice type examination
comprising questions from the topics presented above.
2. It will be conducted by the in their Subject Teachers respective cluster classes following
the given schedule above.
3. It must be participated by all students in the class.
4. The results of the Elimination Round will be announced at the end of the contest
proper. The top five (5) students who earned the highest points will qualify for the
semi-final round.
5. In case of a tie, the involved learners will compete in a tiebreaker round to
determine the qualifiers from the class.
Note: Scores obtain from this stage will serve as 2nd Quarter Performance Task in COR 006.
SEMI-FINAL ROUND (STRAND LEVEL)
1. The semi-final round consists of a 20-item multiple-choice type examination
comprising questions from the same topics presented above.
2. The top two (2) students from the top five (5) who earned the highest combined
scores will represent their department in the final round. Hence, there will be 10
finalists as follows: GASEDUC/IT(2), GASCRIM(2), STEM/STEMH(2), ABM/ABMHT(2), HUMSS(2) &
TVL(2)
Note: All section representatives on this stage will be exempted to 10 items on the exam (41-50)
FINAL ROUND (GRADE LEVEL) - MATH RACE
1. The final round consists of 3 stations.
2. An option to STOP will be given to the participant/s who are not able to finish this station but has no
chance on proceeding onto next station.
3. STATION 1: There are 5 problems under easy level on this station.
- All participants must start answering the problems at the given time simultaneously.
- Problem will be given one at a time, participants need to present the correct answer before proceeding
to next problem.
- Participants must answer the current problem correctly before proceeding onto next problem.
- After answering all the problems correctly, the representatives need to crack the code to get the
number of a certain room for the next station.
4. STATION 2: There are 3 problems under average level on this station.
- All problems will be given to the representatives upon arrival to this station.
- Representatives needs to answer all 3 problems correctly before proceeding onto last station.
- Proctor will give a riddle to the strand representatives. The riddle will lead the students on the next
station's location.
5. STATION 3 (FINAL STATION): There are 2 problems under difficult level on this station.
- The first strand representatives to get the answers correctly will win the mathematics Olympics.
Note:
-The winners will be getting exemption on the 2nd Quarter exam.
-All strand representatives will be exempted to 20 items on the exam (31-50) (If and only if not declared
as winners).
- All the student from the same strand as the winner, will get 2 bonus points on the 2nd Periodical
Examination.
