QUIZ BEE

MECHANICS

A. Participants &
Mechanics:

1. The contest is open to any bona fide Grade 7-10 or
Junior High School students duly recognized by the
Department of Education in this Municipality.
2. The quiz bee is individual in nature. This mean
there will be only one (1) participant for each school.
3. The contest shall consist of three (3) levels: Easy,
Average and Difficult level.
4. The competition has two (2) phases; Elimination
Phase and Final Phase.
B. Scope and Coverage:

1. The quiz bee shall cover
general information about
Civil Registration in the
Philippines and its
Pertinent Laws.
C. Elimination Phase:

1. The Elimination Phase is composed of Easy and
Average level.
2. The Elimination Phase has a total of twenty five
(25) questions to be answered by the participants
within twelve (12) minutes and with a total of thirty
five (45) points.
3. For Easy Level; 15 questions will be asked and
each question is to be answered in 30 seconds. Each
correct answer is equivalent to 1 point.
C. Elimination Phase:

4. For Average Level; 10 questions will be asked
and each question is to be answered in 20 seconds.
Each correct answer is equivalent to 3 points.
5. Answers are to be raised within the allotted time
limit.
6. The top three (3) participants who got the
highest score from the elimination will proceed to
the Final Phase.
D. Final Phase:

1. There shall be three (3) participants coming
from those who successfully made it in the
Elimination Phase.
2. There shall be ten (10) questions in the final
round and each question is to be answered in
fifteen (15) seconds. Each question weighs five
(5) points.
3. The Final Phase has a total of 50 points.
E. Quiz Bee Proper:

1. Cellular or mobile phones are not allowed
during the competition.
2. The Quiz Master shall read the question while
the question itself will be flashed on a screen for
the contestants to see.
3. Each participants are provided with letter
answer choices. It shall be raised when the allotted
time is over. Failure to do so will automatically
zero score for that question.
E. Quiz Bee Proper:

4. Any question or query to the correctness of
the answers should be raised before the start of
the next question.
5. The Quiz Master will read the questions
twice only, after which the contestants should
raise the answer in the answer cards provided.
6. A Quiz Master, a Timer, and a Tabulator
shall be assigned to facilitate the competition.
F. Scoring

 1. The perfect score is 95 points.
 2. Scores from easy and average level will be added to
identify the top three (3) participants who got the
highest total scores from the Elimination Phase and
will proceed to the Final Phase. Participants who did
not make it to the top 3 will be automatically
eliminated.
 3. Scores from easy, average and difficult level will be
added. Participant who got the highest total score will
declare as Champion.
G. Declaration of
Winners:

 1. The participant that garnered the highest total
score shall be declared as the winner.
 2. In cases of ties, one (1) clincher questions will be
raised to break the tie and to be answered in ten (10)
seconds. The one who got the correct answer will
declare as winner.
 3. The top 3 participants who got the highest score
will declare as Champion, 2nd Runner Up and 3rd
Runner Up and will receive cash prizes and
certificates.
