“Raya And The Last Dragon Critique Paper”

The 2021 hit Disney Animated Fantasy and Adventure film “Raya and the Last Dragon” was inspired by
different traditions around Southeast Asian cultures. The film was about an untamed and virtuous warrior
princess (Raya) whom she begins to search for the last dragon to change her father from stone back into
himself and also to bring kumandra back. The film symbolizes Female empowerment, Trust, and Unity. The
movie itself recognizes the beauty of each culture of southeast Asia and we can learn a lot from this movie,
including ideas and moral lessons because it shows morality.

Raya's character impressed me a lot because she represents female empowerment throughout the
film. It gives the idea to the audience that women can do everything like fighting and ruling. And it
teaches the audience how to be themselves and how to value themselves.

“Yeah, well, the world’s broken. You can’t trust anyone. -Raya “Or maybe it’s broken, because you
don’t trust anyone.” -Sisu.

“If you want to get someone a trust-you has to give a little trust first”.

Trust is the main point of the Movie, they are friends that turn into enemies. But in the end, they
manage to save the world by giving each other trust to put every gem back and they become friends
again. In this way, we could learn how trust can change everything and how trust creates unity and
peace.
