Creek Week Clean-Up October 2019: Creek Week is a 9-day, watershed-wide litter and debris collection
event that takes place each October. Service groups, neighborhood associations, scouts, schools,
churches, and individuals all donate their time to help clean up the Fountain Creek Watershed. I
volunteered with the El Paso County Crew on Saturday, October 5, 2019 for five (5) hours. We collected
15 bags of trash from Fox Run Park. Some of the more unusual items we found were a shopping cart and
parts from a car. This activity is very important to me because I plan to major in Geography and
Environmental Science and dedicate my career to creating a sustainable world.
