LESSON 2 NOUNS
A noun is a word that is used as a name of a person, animal, place, emotion or thing.
Eg. Boy, girl, table, girl, happiness.

Types of nouns
We have many types of nouns: proper, common, abstract, concrete, collective and compound.
They are qualified as countable and uncountable.

Countable nouns
Are the names of objects, people and animals that we can count, they have singular and plural
forms.
Eg.Book (s), cat (s), banana (s).

Uncountable nouns
Are the names of things which we cannot count, most of the time they are liquids, materials,
qualities and substances.
Eg.Milk, wine, sugar, rice, beauty, love, hate, iron, steel, pride, respect, help.

Proper noun
Is a name of some particularly person, thing, place or group.
Eg.Lionel Messi, the Eiffel Tower, USA, Africa.

Common noun
Is a name given in common to every person or thing of the same class of kind.
Eg. Dog, chair, teacher, singer

Collective noun
Is a name of a person or things taken together and spoken as one.
Eg.Family, gang, team, governing board.
