Monkey set pattern- 0-3 months

Materials
 5.00mm H hook
 3.75mm Hook for ears
 Worsted weight yarn I used red heat super saver
 Yarn needle to attach ears to hat and the tail to the diaper cover

 Abbreviations and Techniques:

 -Sc = single crochet
 -Dc = double crochet
 HDC = half double crochet
 -Ch = chain
 -Sl St = slip stitch
 -St = stitch
 -Sk = Skip
 -MR = Magic Ring


Hat H hook
Round 1: magic ring, HDC 8 times into the second chain from the hook. SL ST into the first
stitch (8 stitches)
Round 2: CH 1, work 2 HDC into each stitch around (16 stitches)
Round 3: CH 1, *1 HDC in next stitch, 2 HDC in next stitch* repeat until end (24 stitches)
Round 4: CH 1, *1 HDC in next 2 stitches, 2 HDC in next stitch* repeat until end (32 stitches)
Round 5: CH 1, *1 HDC in next 3 stitches, 2 HDC in next stitch* repeat until end (40 stitches)
Round 6: CH 1, 1 HDC in each stitch around (40 stitches)
Round 7-11: CH 1, 1 HDC in each stitch around (40 stitches)
Round 12: CH 1, 1 SC in each HDC around (40 SC)
Round 13: CH 1, 1 SC in each stitch around and finish off (40 stitches)
Monkey Ears make two: 3.75 mm hook

Inner ear- make two

R1) With tan yarn make a magic ring, 10 dc inside ring.
Close ring DO NOT sl st to first DC. (10)
Fasten off leaving tail to sew onto hat. Weave in any loose strings

Outer ear- make two

R 1) with brown yarn make a magic circle, 10 dc inside ring.
Close ring DO NOT sl st to first DC. (10)
R 2) Ch2, turn work 2DC in each stitch (20)
Fasten off leaving tail to sew onto hat. Weave in any loose strings

Diaper cover H hook

Ch 45
1) SC in 2nd chain from hook, SC all the way across
2) CH 2, turn, DC across
3) CH 1, turn, SC across
4) Turn, SL ST
next 10 sts, CH 2, DC next st, DC, next 23 st, leave rest unworked
5) CH 2, turn, DC across
6) CH 2, turn, DC2TOG, DC 20sts, DC2TOG
7) CH 2, turn, DC2TOG, DC 18sts, DC2TOG
8) CH 2, turn, DC2TOG, DC 16sts, DC2TOG
9) CH 2, turn, DC2TOG, DC 14sts, DC2TOG
10) CH 2, turn, DC2TOG, DC 12sts, DC2TOG
11) CH 2, turn, DC2TOG, DC 10sts, DC2TOG
12-19) CH 2, turn, DC across (do not fasten off).

Finish:
Ch1, SC around.
Fasten off, Weave in ends.

Monkey Tail: 5.0 mm hook

I find it’s easier to stuff the tail as you work it.
R 1) make a magic ring. Ch1, sc 8 st in ring. Join.

R 2) Continue to sc around till tail is as long as you would like.

R 3) until it measures 12 inches.

MONKEY HAT- 0-3 months H hook

Round 1) Dc 10 in magic ring, Join with sl st to top of first dc made. (10 dc)
Round 2) Ch 2, dc in same st, 2 dc in every st around. Join. (20 dc)
Round 3) Ch2, *dc in next st, 2 dc in next st. Repeat from*, Join. (30 dc)
Round 4) Ch 2, * dc in next 2 st, 2 dc in next st. Repeat from*, Join. (40 dc)
Round 5-10) Ch 2, dc in every st around. Join. (40 dc)\
Round 11) Ch 1, 1 sc in each st around join and finish off.
