Figure shows the skeleton outline of an air-pump mechanism designed to secure a piston stroke equal to four

times the length of crank instead of twice the length, as would be the case when using the ordinary slider-crank
mechanism. Plot the paths of points E and C, and draw a displacement diagram 4½ inches long for the piston
(link 5) for one complete rotation of the crank (link 2). In the figure the relative positions of the links are shown
when the piston is in its upper extreme position. Draw this configuration of the mechanism to the dimensions
given and in the solution of the problem use 12 equal divisions on the crank circle. Data: AB = 1”; BC = BE =
