good morning.

Welcome to a new chapter with

us. my name is manuela ojeda and today we will
talk about the nariñense culture. I am going to
talk about some traditional games in Nariño
THE PIRINOLA:
The pirinola is a small spinning top that dances
when you spin a small handle on top with your
thumb and forefinger.
TOAD:
the toad is a multiple precision throwing game
where you try to insert a certain number of
tokens, rings or iron or bronze discs into the
multiple holes that exist on the toad or frog table

Juliana Ayala: I am going to talk about tourist

places in Nariño
-Cocha Lagoon
We continue with the water temple. Lake La Coca
is the second largest nature reserve in Colombia
after Lake Tota. It is only 40 minutes from Pasto.
-Galeras Volcano
Another attraction in Nariño is the Galeras
mountain. It is located 9 km from Pasto and is the
most active volcano in the country. In its
surroundings there is a reserve of fauna and flora,
and its rocks are ideal for mountaineering.

Catalina Estrada:
I am going to talk about the pasto varnish

It is a decorative technique of pre-Hispanic origin,

transmitted from generation to generation by Pasto
artisans. The natural resin is obtained through a
process of maceration of the buds or buds of the
leaves of the mopa mopa

Juana ruiz.
It is a natural resin that comes out of a tree. We as
artisans prepare it. This has a process like
maceration with a pot, it is cooked, it is stretched.
Then it begins to be prepared, to be beaten, until all
the impurities that come out of the tree are removed,
which are like bits of wood and all that, until it is
totally clean. Then you begin to do procedures with
aniline and glitter.
Mary Ortega is a varnish artisan from Pasto. She
works with the resin of the Mopa-Mopa tree in her
workshop together with her husband Mario
Narváez. Both have focused on continuing to
maintain the tradition that.

Angela Arturo: I am going to talk about the pastusa

culture.
The Pastusa population is mostly Catholic and is
characterized by its great religiosity. Due to the
number of churches it has, Pasto is known as the
Theological City. In addition, in the vicinity of
Ipiales is the Sanctuary of Las Lajas, one of the
main Catholic temples in Colombia.
