Department of Music
Ms. Weinkauf studied with Dr. Theresa Bogard at the University of Marietta College
Wyoming at the young age of fourteen. At sixteen, Merewyn won the
Northwest Civic Young Artist Competition and made her debut with the
symphony performing Grieg’s Concerto in A Minor with the Northwest
Civic Orchestra in Cody, Wyoming. From there she earned her Bachelor
of Music in Piano Performance from East Texas Baptist University and
her Master of Music in Collaborative Piano from Baylor University,
where she studied with Dr. Elvia Puccinelli. Merewyn also has
additional studies in German Lieder from the University of Vienna,
Austria.
Ms. Weinkauf has been very active in her field in Ohio. She has twice
served as president of the local district of Ohio Music Teacher’s
Senior
Association and is currently the treasurer. She was the founder of the
Marietta College Sonatina Festival and won Woman of the Year Award
in 2011 at Marietta College. Merewyn has been sought after as an
Vocal Recital
adjudicator in the region, judging for West Virginia Music Teacher’s
Association and Ohio University’s Concerto Competition. She has
worked with Emmy Award Winner Tony Vincent and taught American
Tyler Hartline, bass
Popular Music at the University of International Relations in Beijing,
China. with
