Ms. Weinkauf studied with Dr. Theresa Bogard at the University of Marietta College
Wyoming at the young age of fourteen. At sixteen, Merewyn won the
Northwest Civic Young Artist Competition and made her debut with the
symphony performing Grieg’s Concerto in A Minor with the Northwest
Civic Orchestra in Cody, Wyoming. From there she earned her Bachelor
of Music in Piano Performance from East Texas Baptist University and
her Master of Music in Collaborative Piano from Baylor University,
where she studied with Dr. Elvia Puccinelli. Merewyn also has
additional studies in German Lieder from the University of Vienna,
Austria.
Ms. Weinkauf has been very active in her field in Ohio. She has twice
served as president of the local district of Ohio Music Teacher’s
Senior
Association and is currently the treasurer. She was the founder of the
Marietta College Sonatina Festival and won Woman of the Year Award
in 2011 at Marietta College. Merewyn has been sought after as an
Vocal Recital
adjudicator in the region, judging for West Virginia Music Teacher’s
Association and Ohio University’s Concerto Competition. She has
worked with Emmy Award Winner Tony Vincent and taught American
Tyler Hartline, bass
Popular Music at the University of International Relations in Beijing,
China. with

Biographies

Tyler Jacob Hartline, from Marietta, OH, is a senior at Marietta College


(MC) and is pursuing a degree in Music Education and a certificate in
Vocal Pedagogy. Hartline is an active member of the MC community
and has held multiple leadership positions in his time there. Currently,
Hartline serves as President of the MC Music Honorary Society, Mu Psi
Kappa, Vice President of MC Collegiate National Association for Music
Education, Bass Section Leader for the MC Concert Choir, and
President of the MC Dungeons & Dragons Club. He has also served as
President of the MC Choirs, founding President of the MC
Boomwhacker Choir, and Vice President of the MC American Choral
Directors Association. Hartline also served as a substitute director for
the MC Choirs, including Concert Choir, Treble Choir, and Floodstage A
Cappella.
Additionally, he has performed with various ensembles, including
Concert Choir, Floodstage A Cappella, and Wind Ensemble. Hartline
recently performed as Rapunzel’s Prince and the Wolf in the college’s
production of Into the Woods. In the community, Hartline volunteers
with the Washington County 4-H Program as an advisor to the
Washington County Junior Fair Board and Dean of Men at Washington
County 4-H Camps. He has received multiple awards and recognitions.
Hartline was selected to participate in a conducting master class at the
Ohio Music Educators Association Professional Development
Conference, was a recipient of the Vocal Jury Prize, has received
Dean’s High Honors for multiple semesters, and was awarded the
Growing Home Fellowship. Hartline is currently studying voice with Dr.
Amy Yekel. He is excited to begin his student teaching semester and
start his career as a choral music educator.

Merewyn Weinkauf is an Assistant Professor of Music. Her nineteen-


year career Marietta College includes performing for young artists,
guest artists, and faculty recitals. She has performed recitals, both solo
and collaborative, in Texas, Oklahoma, Kansas, Colorado, Wyoming,
West Virginia, and all parts of Ohio. In addition to her playing, Ms.
Weinkauf teaches private piano students and music history at Marietta
College.
