1.If you were Karan whose job would you eliminate?

After evaluating all the alternatives and being the President of Finance it was decided to
eliminate Sahil and retain Armaan.

2.Why?

There are multiple reasons for eliminating the job of Sahil and they are as follows:

● In case of downsizing, generally senior employees are most likely to be

eliminated and Sahil fits the criteria being senior to Armaan.
● Younger employees are familiar with new technologies hence it makes them
more efficient than older employees to keep up with the rapid pace of
development which leads to reduction in expenses related to training.
● Sahil’s performance was always upto the mark but never exceeded expectations
like Armaan did.
● Armaan’s contribution to the company has been vital in saving the company from
huge financial losses and positioning the company in profits while Sahil was also
present.
● Academically Sahil had a Bachelor’s Degree and a Postgraduate Diploma on a
part time basis whereas Armaan hailed from a prestigious institute with a MBA
degree.
● Sahil joined the company after high school unlike Armaan who chose this
company despite having many job offers after getting a MBA degree.
● Retaining Armaan would be a wise option as he has achieved extraordinary
things in a very short span of time which were beneficial for the company.
