Mission statement:

At Shelter Partnership, we are dedicated to addressing homelessness in the Los Angeles County

area. Each year, we continue to expand our footprint and grow our impact through addressing the

needs of our partner agencies and advocating for effective policies.

Mission/Purpose:

Shelter Partnership, Inc. is a nonprofit organization collaboratively solving homelessness in Los

Angeles County through policy analysis, program design, resource development, and advocacy
in support of agencies and local governments that serve the homeless.
Part II
I chose Shelter Partnership, Inc as I have always felt strongly about helping the homeless.

Homelessness has always been a big issue in all of LA. As people strive in California, others

have nothing and I believe to be human is to be considerate of other human beings and give a

helping hand to people that have nothing or very little. I believe that Shelter Partnership, Inc

helps me put my beliefs to action and help other people. Shelter Partnership’s mission is to help

the homeless crisis by providing homeless housing, shelters, and offering food. and human

services. They believe people that are homeless deserve just as many resources as other people

and they should be helped to get back to their feet.

My community has always been in LA. Koreatown to be more specific and I have lived here all

my life. So I have seen homelessness around my community a lot. I'd try to help by buying a

drink or a snack but that’s only helping on such a small scale. I see myself out in the

communities giving out to the homeless and talking to them, telling them they have options and

support if they want and need it. I see myself talking to them as they might have not been able to

talk to someone one-on-one in a while, as many people look the other way and may fear

homeless people. This can only help my community in positive ways as streets will be cleaner

and people would be able to get back on their feet and be able to live. Volunteering would help

my conscience knowing that I did my best for people and it would make me happy as I believe

people should share resources, and wealth and if I did my part then I would be very happy.
