1 Introduction
1.1 Purpose
This installation manual describes installation procedures for the Ventura rapid slide system. Together with the commissioning
manual and the system drawings makes a complete set of installation documentation. It is important to follow all instructions. All
instructions must be conducted without air pressure/electric power unless mentioned otherwise. The instructions should be
executed for both door leaves when the system contains two door leaves. A well-adjusted door system is less vulnerable to failure.
The right maintenance is crucial for the durability of the door system.
1.2 Scope
The purpose of this document is to guide trained mechanics trough the installation steps of the rapid slide system.

manual states otherwise, follow the manual.
While working on the Ventura door systems wear
appropriate personal protective equipment.
This list may include but is not limited to:
Do not attempt to install the door system under • Protective shoes with slip resistant soles
influence of drugs or alcohol. • Protective goggles, glasses or face shield
• A hard hat
NOTICE
Do not remove the factory installed white zip ties. If the manual states otherwise, follow the manual. Never remove black zip
ties.
Read and follow the instructions written on the parts to see which zip ties are not allowed to be removed.

7. Bottom support
NOTICE
The portal is including all covers, strips etc. which
are not part of the Ventura Systems door system.
4 Installation
Execute the following steps to install the system.
NOTE
In case of a T-slot profile then the portal strips and tapping
screws do not apply.
Be aware the seals are neat onto the body of the vehicle.
Figure 12: mounting T-slot profile
Mounting the bottom of the door shaft and the bottom support
1. Apply multi-purpose grease on the pivot of the bottom
support
2. Fit the door shaft on the pivot on the bottom support.
3. Hold the bottom support with the door shaft in place
and position it against the portal.
4. Hand tighten the fasteners.
Figure 18: Securing the bottom support
Figure 21: Connecting the door arm onto the door mechanism
CAUTION!
The door leaf is heavy. We advise to install the door leaf with
two persons to prevent personal injury and prevent severe
damage to the door system.
Fitting the bottom of the door leaf onto the door shaft
1. Loosen the lever block (3) and rotate it. Fit the door
leaf over the outer guide roller (1) and lower lever.
Make sure the outer guide roller (1) is inside the rail
and the inner guide roller (2) is on the outside of the
rail.
2. Simultaneously fit the upper rail of the door leaf on the
upper lever of the door shaft as described below.
Figure 25: Fitting the bottom of the door leaf on the door shaft
Fitting the top of the door leaf onto the door shaft
1. Place the door leaf over the door shaft upper lever and
make sure the guide roller (4) on the upper lever fits
well inside the door leaf upper guiding rail.
2. Make sure the guide roller (4) is able to move freely
inside the upper guiding rail.
3. Rotate the lever block (3) back in place and fasten it.
Figure 26: Fitting the top of the door leaf on the door shaft
4.7 Door leaf parallel with the outside surface of the bus
• Put the door in open position and check if the door leaf is
parallel to the the outside surface of the bus (2). If the
door leaf is not paralell to the outside surface, follow the
next steps to adjust the door.
1. Loosen the rotation point (3) slightly and fully loosen the
other 3 fasteners but do not remove them.
2. Turn the door leaf / door arm around the rotation point
(3) until the door leaf is parallel to the outside surface of
the bus
3. Tighten all the fasteners.
• Check if the distance (1) between the door mechanism and the
portal is equal at both sides of the door mechanism. If the
distance (1) is not equal on both sides follow the next steps to
adjust this with the adapter brackter at position 2.
• Check if the height between the portal and the door leaf (5) is
50±2 mm and parallel across the entire length of the door
mechanism. If not, follow the next steps.
NOTE
Rapid sliding door systems usually have an adjustment screw Figure 39: Adjusting the door leaf
(8) inside the door leaf upper rail when the door leaf is wider
than 1 meter. In this case the rotation point is at position 6
instead of the default rotation point at position 7
CAUTION!
Be aware the system could move when applying power and/or pressure to the system
WARNING!
Remove the power and/or pressure from the system before making any adjustment.
Creating a gap between the portal seal and the leading edge seal
1. Adjust the position of the end stop closed position (3) on
the door mechanism to created a gap between the portal
seal (2) and the leading edge seal (1). This gap will be
removed in the next chapters.
Only the leading edge side of the door system can be adjusted in
order to make the door leaf glass flush with the outside surface of
the portal.
CAUTION!
Be aware the system could move when applying power and/or pressure to the system
Remove the gap between the leading edge seal and the portal seal
at the top of the door leaf
1. Shorten the end stop (3) by steps of 1 mm and test if the
gap between the leading edge seal (2) and the portal seal Figure 50: Position 1: leading edge seal and portal seal
(1) is closed by opening and closing the door.
2. The leading edge seal (2) should not be pressed too tight
against the portal seal (1) because the sensitive edge in
the leading edge seal (2) could be activated.
3. To test this a piece of paper can be placed between the
leading edge seal (2) and the portal seal (1). The leading
edge seal (2) should hold the paper in place, but the piece
of paper needs to be removable by hand without tearing.
WARNING!
When testing the pressure with a piece of paper as explained above, make sure to keeps hands and other body parts away
from the moving door leaf.
Remove the power and/or pressure from the system before making any adjustment.
Remove the gap between the leading edge seal and the portal seal
at the bottom of the door leaf
1. Loosen the fasteners (4) which holds the door shaft to the
bottom support.
2. Move the pivot (4) on the bottom support to the left or
right until the pressure of the leading edge seal (2) against
the portal seal (1) is equally divided over the top and
bottom part of the leading edge seal (2).
3. This can be tested with a piece of paper as explained
earlier in this chapter.
4. Tighten the fasteners. Figure 52: Position 3: Connection rod
Adjust guide rollers of open position against the end rubber of the door
rail
1. When the system has pressure the distance (5) between the
door rail and the outer guide roller needs to be adjusted to a
maximum of 1 mm. This is important to ensure that the outer
Figure 56: Position 3: guide roller and end rubber
guide roller is able to move freely and is not being damaged by
to much pressure when opening and closing the door.
2. Place the door in almost open position and adjust the distance
(5) by adjusting the end stop (3) under the bottom lever of the
door shaft.
3. Place the door system in fully open position where the outer
guide roller (7) touches the end rubber (6).
4. Adjust the end stop open position (8) so that the distance (9)
between the end stop open position (8) and the mechanism is
3 mm. This ensures a tight fit of the door leaf.
5 Torque Settings
All generic rapid slide settings that require torque tightening are in this chapter. Check if all mentioned fasteners are on the
correct torque settings. The torque settings of marked fasteners may be verified by checking if the marking is intact.
The fasteners which connect Ventura parts onto the vehicle are, in most cases, non-Ventura parts. Therefor the torque of these
fasteners is not defined by Ventura.
The position in the system overview have details in the following part of this manual. In the second part the torque settings are
described.
M10=45±4 Nm,
45±4 Nm, 2pc 22±2 Nm, 2pc
M12=83±4 Nm, 4 pc
Position 4 Position 5 Position 5
22±2 Nm 45±4 Nm
6 Operational checks
Execute these checks before applying power.
WARNING!
Applying power to an unchecked system may result in a potentially hazardous situation which, if not avoided, could result in
death or serious injury.
CAUTION!
