Rapid Sliding Door System Door installation safety
Installation Manual General

2 Door installation safety

2.1 General
Safety of the operator and bystanders is one of the main concerns in designing and developing a new piece of equipment.
Ventura's door systems have the proper safety features for common use of the system. An accident can often be avoided by
recognizing potentially hazardous situations before an accident occurs. As you install, operate, or maintain the door system, you
must be alert to potential hazards. Make sure you have the necessary training, skills and tools to perform any assembly, or
maintenance procedures. Improper operation and maintenance of this door system may result in a dangerous situation that may
cause injury or death.

Ventura Systems cannot anticipate every possible circumstance that may involve a potential hazard. The warnings in this
document and on the product are not all-inclusive. If a method of installation or operation is used, which is not specifically
recommended by Ventura Systems, you must satisfy yourself that it is safe for you and for others. You should also ensure that the
door system will not be damaged or be made unsafe by the installation and/or operational methods you choose. The information,
specifications and illustrations in this document are based on the information that was available at the time this document was
written and can change at any time without notice.

2.2 Disclaimer
The information contained in this document is based upon reliable technical data at the time the document was published. These
instructions are intended for use by persons having the technical knowledge to install, maintain or repair this door system. The

gap between the leading edge seal (2) and the portal seal Figure 50: Position 1: leading edge seal and portal seal
(1) is closed by opening and closing the door.
2. The leading edge seal (2) should not be pressed too tight
against the portal seal (1) because the sensitive edge in
the leading edge seal (2) could be activated.
3. To test this a piece of paper can be placed between the
leading edge seal (2) and the portal seal (1). The leading
edge seal (2) should hold the paper in place, but the piece
of paper needs to be removable by hand without tearing.

Figure 51: Position 2: Closed position end stop

WARNING!

When testing the pressure with a piece of paper as explained above, make sure to keeps hands and other body parts away
from the moving door leaf.

Remove the power and/or pressure from the system before making any adjustment.

at the bottom of the door leaf
1. Loosen the fasteners (4) which holds the door shaft to the
bottom support.
2. Move the pivot (4) on the bottom support to the left or
right until the pressure of the leading edge seal (2) against
the portal seal (1) is equally divided over the top and
bottom part of the leading edge seal (2).
3. This can be tested with a piece of paper as explained
earlier in this chapter.

guide roller is able to move freely and is not being damaged by
to much pressure when opening and closing the door.
2. Place the door in almost open position and adjust the distance
(5) by adjusting the end stop (3) under the bottom lever of the
door shaft.
3. Place the door system in fully open position where the outer
guide roller (7) touches the end rubber (6).
4. Adjust the end stop open position (8) so that the distance (9)
between the end stop open position (8) and the mechanism is
3 mm. This ensures a tight fit of the door leaf.

Rapid Sliding Door System Torque Settings
Installation Manual

5 Torque Settings
All generic rapid slide settings that require torque tightening are in this chapter. Check if all mentioned fasteners are on the
correct torque settings. The torque settings of marked fasteners may be verified by checking if the marking is intact.
The fasteners which connect Ventura parts onto the vehicle are, in most cases, non-Ventura parts. Therefor the torque of these
fasteners is not defined by Ventura.

After setting a part to torque specification, mark the connection

with a torque marker.

Figure 58: mark the fasteners with a torque marker.

The position in the system overview have details in the following part of this manual. In the second part the torque settings are
described.
