i).The young seagull was afraid to fly because it was his first flight and he feared falling and hurting himself.
The seagull thought that his wings would not support him while flying. Yes, it is natural that doing something
for the first time can be a bit challenging and frightening. All birds are afraid of making their first flight.
Similarly, a human baby is also afraid of taking the first step and finds it challenging when it learns to crawl or
stand up without support but eventually it is necessary to learn to be independent in order to survive.
’ ii).Chubukov drives Lomov out of his house, after a heated argument. But when Natalya gets to know about
Lomov's proposal, she turns hysterical, starts wailing and accuses him of driving him out of the house.

started living with Anil he wanted to be literate so that he could become a respectable person.in the
society.but on seeing the bunch of notes with Anil,he stole it.. Later on there is a change in his heart.

iii. Griffin was a brilliant scientist but he was an antithesis because he uses his mind for making a
good drug that is which can make anyone body invisible but he uses that drug in the wrong way. He
uses that drug and became invisible and set fire to his landowner's home Just because his landowner
did not like him. He stole the clergyman’s money, things from the London store and the shop in
Drury lane. He attacked the owner of the inn and the constable. He was a lawless person.

i. When Mijbil, the otter and the tiger in the cage are put in comparison, one cannot make out the
difference between the two. The otter is happy and enjoying his stay with his master as he is kept
close to water. The narrator ensures that the otter gets to be near water as they love to be there. On
the other hand tiger has been taken away from its natural habitat and he languishes in the cage. He is
reminded of his days of freedom and sulks with no sleep around. It stares at the sky and thinks about
his days in the forest. He is kept in the cage for the visitors to see him. He does not want to see any
visitor and feels suffocated.
ii. Bakers were considered as indispensable and extremely important on any celebrations there in
Goa. They had a unique place among the people. They were known as 'Paders' in Goa. They had a
peculiar dress earlier known as the Kabai. Breads and cakes were an integral part of everyday life in
Goa and were also consumed on special occasions. Thus, the baker was a man whose arrival was
always eagerly anticipated by the adults and children. Bakers were very informal with the children
They were considered as friends and companions, and treated as a family member.

(i) A difficult path of righteousness is always better than an easy path of deceit. Horace Danby was
a thief, he robbed safe every year. But, in the end he was befooled by another thief and was arrested
by the police. Stealing or lying cannot bring happiness or success
ii. Ausable did not have a attractive personality but he was a smart and intelligent man who was a
secret agent but he was very fat and sloppy. He spoke in an American accent which he had brought
from Boston twenty years ago. He could speak French and German but possibly he was a spy who
dealt in espionage and danger.
