1 SECURITY
Autex LIDER PLUS spreading machines are designed and built according to current
European legislation. They comply with the relevant safety regulations and incorporate
the safety devices indicated in Figure 1:
• Mobile safety bars with electrical locking to protect the operator from the
mechanical danger of impact with the moving carriage. When triggered they cause
the machine to stop.
• Run and stop safety devices that enable operations to be carried out during
automatic cycle after interrupting the cycle in a recognizably stable state.
• Emergency stop buttons with mechanical locking, located in zones where the
operator is more frequently present.
• Power supply shut-off device, to allow cleaning, maintenance and repair work to
be carried out safely.
• Fixed guards that must be opened using a special tool, and should only be opened
by authorized personnel for maintenance or repairs.
• Warning signs indicating the risk inherent in the moving working parts.
All these safety devices are incorporated in, and form part of, the machine. The
modification, elimination or failure to maintain any component of the machine
increases the risk of accident, and involves non-compliance with Work Equipment
Directive 89/655/EEC.
The manufacturer assumes no responsibility for damage arising from the use of the
machine following any modification, elimination or failure to maintain its components that
has been carried out without its previous express approval.
2 GENERAL INFORMATION
2.1 Functions
The autex LIDER PLUS programmable spreading machine basically consists of a moving
carriage that spreads rolls of fabric in layers on a long table by traveling alternatively from
one end to the other. It includes a cutting device with a circular blade that moves across
the table to cut the fabric at the point pre-set by the operator. This cutting device may be
easily replaced by folding levers for zigzag spreading or a tubular accessory.
Electrical motors, driving chains and toothed belt transmission systems power the
movement of the machine over the work table (main motor), the movements of the cutter,
and the raising of the cutting assembly (secondary motors). The spreading table
incorporates two clamps, one fixed and one adjustable, that hold down the ends of the
spread fabric.
The machine is controlled from a console fixed to the moving carriage. The machine is
fed by placing a roll of fabric in the upper rear part of the moving carriage.
• SPREADING MODES
The machine program allows the following fabric spreading operations to be carried out
on flat, airblown, suction or conveyor tables:
• PROGRAMMATION
The machine can be programmed directly from the touch screen on the mobile carriage.
This allows the spreading to be programmed during operation, thus reducing non-
productive periods.
• OPTIONS
◦ End cutting without clamp

Fire protection Bear in mind the possible types of fire when determining the type of fire
extinguisher to be used. The use of fire extinction systems that are safe for electronic
circuits is recommended.
6.2 Location
The space required for siting the spreading machine must include the areas required for
spreading operations and for seeing the instruments on the machine, as well as
enabling access for maintenance work to be carried out.
Especially during spreading operations, the areas for the operator to move on both
sides and all along the table, protected by the safety bars fitted to the mobile carriage,
should be kept clear of all obstacles.
Figure 4: Site plan for the installation of the LIDER PLUS spreading machine.
The space requirements for siting of the spreading machine are as follows:
Width
Required width = Total width + 2,000 mm (= Useful width + 3,020 mm)
Optional operator platform: add 400 mm
Length
Mobile carriage only 1000 mm + table length
Carriage with optional roll loader 2000 mm + table length
Carriage with optional transfer table 3000 mm + table length
Carriage with optional loader and transfer table 4000 mm + table length
Height
Height of safety zone 2600 mm minimum

(*) Each table module is fitted with four adjustable feet to allow the spreading table to be
leveled.
(*) The surface of the floor must be sufficiently strong to permit movement of the
transfer table and mobile carriage (concrete, etc.). Tiled pavements are not
recommended.
6.3 Connections
Warning: The responsibility of Autex-Int, S.L.L. begins at the machine connection box.
Protection against insulation failures, short-circuits and overloading that may occur prior
to the terminal box of the machine are the exclusive responsibility of the user.
installation and the section of the power cables to the machine connection box as
determined by the maximum operating current specified in this handbook.
The connections between the spreading machine and its various options are as follows:
LINE 1: Power supply for the spreading machine mobile carriage
7 OPERATION
7.1 Workstation
7.2 Controls
All the machine controls are located on the operator side of the machine.
3 4 5 6
1. The Touch Screen displays information on the program and the spreading
operation, as well as enabling operation and programming of the sheets.
Touching the touch-sensitive areas activate the control functions of the spreading
machine. The screen displays the function options and available programs at all
times.
2. The Emergency Stop button halts the spreading cycle. It may be restarted by
pressing the Reset button.
3. The Reset Button takes you to the zero point search screen.
4. The Stop button stops the spreading machine at any point on the table
5. With the threading selector, we can spread manually, and it allows us to adjust
the speed while spreading.
6. Speed control allows us to regulate the speed of the machine in the models that
include this selector. In the other models, we will adjust the speed through the touch
screen.
When the machine approaches the end of the marking (each cycle), it always
stops at the deceleration rate set by the program. This rate is proportional to the
carriage speed, enabling maximum advantage to be taken of the working time for all
spreading operations and speeds.
7.2.2 Start up
To connect the machine turn the main power selector to ON. The led should light up
indicating that the machine has tension and is ready to work. If the led does not light up
check the power imput ICP.
Then push the reset button (Nº 3). The machine will reset and on the touch screan we
should see the Search for Point 0 menu. If the machine does not reset, check the security
bars, the machines security micros and if the error persists call Autex Technical Service.
Once we reset the machine, we should see this screen and should always do a search
for point 0 in automatic.
Depending on the position, the machine will do one action or another. If the machine is in
the point 0 position, it will move forward 20 cms, return to the point 0 position and stop. If
the machine is not it the point 0 position, it will return directly to the point 0 position. Once
the machine has found point 0, the screen will go automatically to the Main Menu.
If we search in Manual, the point 0 can be selected at any position of the table.

10 7.2.6.3.1
7.2.6.8 7.2.6.3.2
Main menu will allow us to access the control of the machine to work, and adjust different
functions depending on the desired spreading.
The machines speed bar and feeding bar are only visual, but the cutting speed bar can
be modified through the numeric box.
7.2.6.1 Manual
The manual control screen allows manual movement of the machine aswell as the height
of the elevator. This screen is used to adjust the clamp once we have programmed a
mark.
The bar allows us to control the work speed. With the arrows we move the machine to the
desired position. The numerical display will give us the exact position of the machine on
the table.
Activating the ON/OFF switch, we can control the meters of the roll we are spreading and
the time used during the operation. The first counter will count the spreaded roll, and with
the RESET boton we reset the counter and the meters counted will be moved to the
accumulative counter. The accumulative counter will continue to count the meters until we
push the reset boton below.
The START and STOP indicators show the time that the machine has been working or
stopped, and with the RESET boton we bring the counter to 0. With the ON/OFF boton we
can activate or deactivate this option.

7.2.6.4.4 7.2.6.4.9
7.2.6.4.1 Barrier
The barrier system only works when we have the complete program activated. This
system allows us to work in piles and avoid the height differences of the table.
Through the numerical values, we have to adjust the wind back of the fabric when the
cutter raises, and the descent of the fabric when the cutter lowers to the layers.
The raising time will allow us to avoid high layers changing the numerical values. In the
descent, the cell will act as a security stopper over the layers.
7.2.6.4.2 Times
This screen allows us to adjust the raising time when cutting to ease the entry of the
blade on the fabric.
It also allows us to modify the time of the machines invertion. The higher the number the
faster the invertion.
This screen allows us to configure the return speed when the machine is moving in the
opposite sense of the spreading. This speed only exists when the machine is working in
cut mode.
7.2.6.4.4 Margins
This screen allows us the add a margin(in centimeters) to the measurements of the mark.
7.2.6.4.5 Zig-Zag/Cut
7.2.4.4.6.1
This screen allows us to configure how we want the machine to work with the Zig-Zag/Cut
accessory. We can only access this screen with the adecuate accessory.
With the cut boton, we will tell the machine to work in normal cut, but with the Zig-Zag/cut
accessory.
With the Zig-Zag boton, we will tell the machine to cut at the ends facing faces, indicating
where we want the machine to start activating INVERSE or NORMAL.
When working with the Zig-Zag/Cut accessory, we have to adjust the size of the ply so
there are no differences on the ends between the first and last ply. This is adjusted using
numerical values and is only used with this accessory.
Activating this option, we cancel the automatic raise with the photocell. We then have to
enter a numerical raising value to activate it. For example; if we enter 6, the accessory will
raise a little every 6 ply's extended.
7.2.6.4.7 Impulses
With this screen we can adjust the impulses of the fabric while spreading.
The ON/OFF switches validates the impulse system.
Give more fabric when reducing (Zig-Zag): When we use the Zig-Zag accessory,
before entering the clamp, it feeds us a little extra, creating a loop which avoids the
stretching of the fabric.
Remove fabric when leaving: When leaving the clamp, it retains the fabric, eliminating
the small loop generated when entering the clamp.
Give more fabric when reducing (Cut): This is used with the cutting accessory. It feeds
a little fabric before cutting.
NOTE: These impulses are regular (in centimeters)
7.2.6.4.8 Ramps
Acceleration Ramp: With this screen, we regulate the acceleration. The higher the
number the higher the acceleration.
Leave time without acceleration: When activated (working with the cutter), we can
configure the time we want the clamp to release before accelerating. This allows us to
release smoothly when the fabric requires it.

botton is marked green.
• RETURN TO LOAD: The machine will stop the automatic spreading cycle
and rest at point 0 or loading point as long as there is no fabric, if the botton is
marked green.
• FAST RETURN: This option is only operational when the machine is working
with cut. It allows us to differenciate the spreading speed from the speed without
fabric. Only if the botton is marked green.

The PENDULIN option is only available with our models equiped with the PENDULIN.
The pendulin adjusts automatically once we have previously entered the position value in
the box 8.4.5.
8.4.4 MIXED
This feeding control combines the PROGRAMMED and one adjustment of PENDULIN. It
is activated with the botton MIXED FEEDING and is only available on the machines with
the Pendulin option.
To configure it, we have to enter the value of the Pendulin in option 8.4.5 and adjust the
sensibility using the numerical value which is entered in option ST%. This value can
oscilate between 10 (less sensibility) and 100 (more sensibility).
8.5 DISPLAY
This part of the screen shows us the spreading program been used. More information in
section 9.0 (Programming)
It also has an ON/OFF botton for the layer counter which allows the machine to control
the layers done in the program.
8.7 ELEVATOR
The up/down arrows raise and lower the accessory used with the machine. The limit
switch is indicated with micros, but if we manually lower the accessory with the down
arrow, the photocell will mark the limit.
We can stop the cutting process while the machine is extending with the cut botton. A
yellow led will light up and when the machine reaches the end it will stop, waiting for our
instructions. Here we have 2 options: First, push the cut botton which will execute a cut,
changing the led colour from yellow to green and continuing with the spreading process.
Second, push the stop botton which automatically stops the cutting process and the led
changes from yellow to red.
8.9 COUNTER
It also has an ON/OFF botton for the layer counter which allows the machine to control
the layers done in the program.

If we are executing a link up, it's probably because we have run out of fabric before
finishing the mark. To execute a link up, we have to follow the next steps:
• Step 1:
Using botton 6, move the machine to the same point where the fabric ended.
• Step 2:
Push botton 8 to execute this function. We will observe the machine move to
the co-ordinate where the link up has to be performed.
• Step 2:
If the fault is extended over the length of the fabric, we will move the machine to the end
of the fault and push botton 7 to do a manual cut. Once cut we can get rid of the faulty
fabric.
• Step 3:
To link the fabrics we push botton 2, which will overlap the fabrics to continue spreading.
(Once we finish with the link we can exit this screen and return to the work screen)
