Cleaning of the belt is carried out in two stages: powerful high pressure water spray with or without detergent solution; and a final rinse by hot water spray. After this, the belt is dried by a fan. All surplus water is collected in a drip pan, which can be connected to the floor drain. Normally, as for most meat and fish products, it is only necessary to wash the belt once every shift. If required, continuous thawing of the belt mesh is possible, provided that the belt runs at moderate speed not exceeding 12 m/min (40 ft/min).
