Rizal Park, also known as Luneta Park, is a historical urban park located at the northern terminus of Roxas Boulevard

in the heart of the city of Manila, Philippines. Located along Manila Bay, Luneta has been the site of some of the most significant moments in Philippine history . Among them is the execution of Jos Rizal on December 30, 1896, sparking the fire of the Philippine Revolution against the Spanish colonizers, elevating the martyr as the national hero of the country. The park was officially renamed Rizal Park in his honor and his monument serves as the symbolic focal point of the park. The Declaration of Philippine Independence from American rule was held here on July 4, 1946 as well as the political rallies of Ferdinand Marcos and Corazon Aquino in 1986 that led to the EDSA Revolution deposing the dictator.

The Aguinaldo Shrine is a national shrine of the Republic of the Philippines, located in Kawit, Cavite.The Philippine flag is raised here by top national officials every June 12 to commemorate Araw ng Kalayaan or Independence Day. the shrine is now an open museum that open to all visitors The house was first built in 1845, The shrine is the ancestral home of Emilio Aguinaldo,the first president of the First Republic of the Philippines, and it was here that Philippine independence from Spain was proclaimed from the balcony of the mansion on June 12, 1898. The proclamation of Philippine Independence was read, though this was subsequently replaced by another declaration written and signed in Malolos, Bulacan).

Fort Santiago (Spanish: Fuerte de Santiago Tagalog: Moog ng Santiago) is a defense fortress built for Spanish conquistador, Miguel Lpez de Legazpi. The fort is part of the structures of the walled city of Intramuros, in Manila, Philippines. Jos Rizal, the Philippines' national hero, was imprisoned in the fort before his execution in 1896. the site features, embedded onto the ground in bronze, his final footsteps representing the walk from his cell to the location of the actual execution.

Magellan's Cross is a Christian cross planted by Portuguese, and Spanish explorers as ordered by Ferdinand Magellan upon arriving in Cebu in the Philippines on April 8, 1521. This cross is housed in a chapel next to the Basilica Minore del Santo Nio on Magallanes Street (Magallanes being the Spanish name of Magellan), just in front of the city hall of Cebu City. A sign below the cross describes the original cross is encased inside the wooden cross that is found in the center of the chapel. This is to protect the original cross from people who chipped away parts of the cross for souvenir purposes or in the belief that the cross possesses miraculous powers. Some people, however, believe that the original cross had been destroyed or had disappeared after Magellan's death, and the cross is a replica that was planted there by the Spaniards after they successfully colonized the Philippines.

The Battle of Tirad Pass, sometimes referred to as the "Philippine Thermopylae", was a battle in the Philippine-American War fought on December 2, 1899, in northern Luzon in the Philippines, in which a 60-man Filipino rearguard commanded by Brigadier General Gregorio del Pilar succumbed to 500 Americans of the 33rd Infantry Regiment under Major Peyton C. March, while delaying the American advance to ensure Emilio Aguinaldo's escape.

In 1944, United States General Douglas MacArthur led the allied attack on the Japanese army that had conquered the Philippines. The campaign began at Red Beach, Palo, Leyte. This is where Gen. MacArthur made his famous landing just minutes after the marines had secured the beach head. It was on this occasion that the famous general made the second half of his famous I shall return speech. The Lapu-Lapu shrine is a 20-meter bronze statue in Punta Engao, Mactan Island, Cebu, Philippines, erected in honor of Datu Lapu-Lapu, a native leader who defeated Spanish soldiers and killed Portuguese explorer Ferdinand Magellan in the Battle of Mactan on 1521.

The Sandugo was a blood compact, performed in the island of Bohol in the Philippines, between the Spanish explorer Miguel Lpez de Legazpi and Datu Sikatuna the chieftain of Bohol on March 16, 1565, to seal their friendship as part of the tribal tradition. This is considered as the first treaty of friendship between the Spaniards and Filipinos. "Sandugo" is a Visayan word which means "one blood".[1] The Sandugo is depicted in both the provincial flag and the official seal of the government in Bohol.[2] It also features the image of the blood compact. The top of the seal explains the history behind the Sandugo event that occurred in Bohol, the fleet and the location where the Spaniards anchored and the place where the treaty was conducted which was dated on March 16, 1565
