A Social Media platform like Facebook, in our present time, is a handy tool of communication

where youth used to like, comment, and share anything about their lives. According to
the Talkwalker Quick Search Social Media Statistic in the Philippines last 2019, age group 18-24
makes up the largest proportion of social media users, 52.7% of the total population. By this, we
can keep in touch with anyone anywhere else and exercise our freedom of speech. Even though
almost everyone in the community is connected to at least one social media platform, the youth
are the leading and most fanatic of these social platforms to the point that they even have access
to it while in class. In this case, people must become familiar with Cybercrime law to limit,
guide, and capacitate all young minds to use social media platforms in a sharped-eyed way.

Social media platform like Facebook has a comprehensive function to connect everyone.
Facebook can automatically flash-on some advertisements which are not suitable for very young
users. With this application, youth can watch anything they wanted to do without parental
guidance compared to when they watch television.

Even though social media sites seem to connect more youth and make them stay up to date,
According to a BBC News report, it leads to isolation. It reduces the number of face-to-face
interactions amongst the youths because they usually spend most of their time on these online
social platforms. An evaluation from various studies done by multiple scientists shows that social
isolation can cause many effects such as physical, emotional, mental and psychological issues in
these youths. This can in turn lead to depression, anxiety and many other problems. It also leads
to misspelling of words and misuse of words and tenses through the use of short forms and
abbreviations.
