Different services are delivered via the

Internet through cloud computing. These tools and
programs comprise software, servers, databases,
networking, and data storage, among other things.

Cloud-based storage enables you to save

files to a remote database rather than a proprietary
hard disk or local storage device. An electronic
gadget has access to the data and the software
applications needed to run it as long as it has
internet access.

For a variety of reasons, including cost savings, enhanced productivity, speed and
efficiency, performance, and security, cloud computing is a popular choice for both individuals
and corporations.

A specific kind of cloud computing

service known as Infrastructure as a Service
(IaaS) provides basic computation, storage, and
networking resources on demand and on a pay-
as-you-go basis. The IaaS vendor provides the
storage, network, servers and virtualization.
This service enables users to free themselves
from maintaining an on-premises data center.

Platform as a Service (PaaS) is a full-

featured cloud development and deployment
environment that has the tools you need to
produce everything from basic cloud-based apps
to complex corporate applications.

Platform as a service (PaaS) is a cloud computing model where a third-party

provider delivers hardware and software tools to users over the internet. Usually, these
tools are needed for application development. A PaaS provider hosts the hardware and
software on its own infrastructure. As a result, PaaS frees developers from having to install
in-house hardware and software to develop or run a new application.

Software as a Service (SaaS) is a

licensing model in which users receive
subscription-based access to software,
which is hosted on external servers rather
than internal ones.

A web browser is typically used to

access Software as a Service, and users
must log in with a username and password.
The software can be accessed online rather
than requiring each user to install it on their
machine.

Today, cloud computing has completely taken over the IT industry. However,
a small minority of critics continue to ask questions like: What are the advantages and
disadvantages of cloud computing for my business? Should I transfer to the cloud
simply because others are doing so? Well, they should undoubtedly assess their
current IT infrastructure, consider any workload or application restrictions, and
assess whether their current issues and limitations will be resolved or eliminated by
the cloud. Below are some of the pros and cons of Cloud Computing:

Nowadays, a wide variety of software

applications are available. Others are
intended for more specialized uses, while
some are made to make your life easier.
Knowing what software, you will need for
your specific situation can be challenging at
times. Below are the two examples of
software:

Linux is a free, open-source operating system that users can install on computers
and servers. It is a common alternative to Windows or macOS.

Top Features:
▪ It's free and open source
▪ It's highly customizable
▪ It's less vulnerable to malware than Windows
▪ It has a variety of distributions to choose from, such as CentOS, Debian,
Fedora, Mint, Ubuntu, etc.

Google Drive is a cloud storage service that gives you access to your files from
anywhere. It has 15GB of storage for free, and you can buy more if needed. Google Drive
lets you share files with others and collaborate on documents in real-time.

Top Features:
▪ It's affordable
▪ It's easy to use
▪ It integrates with other Google products
▪ You can access your files from anywhere

The software I chose to upload was Linux. Linux is a family of open-source operating
systems. They are based on the Linux kernel and are free to download. They can be
installed on either a Mac or Windows computer.

The first thing I did was searching for DISKMGMT.MSC in the search bar. Next, I right-
click on my main hard drive and select Shrink Volume. If you have more than one drive,
make sure to choose the one that says Primary Partition. This will usually be labeled as
the C: drive.

Then I chose how much I want to shrink in my drive. It is recommended that you set
aside at least 20GB (20,000MB) for Linux. After I designated space to install Linux, I wrote
a Linux Distro onto a USB thumb drive or external drive 4GB or larger. This will differ
depending on which distro you are trying to install. These details might include your WiFi
network, language, time zone, keyboard layout, etc. You might also be required to create
an account with a username and password. Make sure to write down any details, as you
will likely need them in the future.

Lastly, I tried to upload file in Linux software using SCP (SSH). SCP is a utility used to
move files and directories securely via SSH. With the SCP command, I was able to transfer
files from my computer to my Linux server and vice versa. As this utility uses SSH to move
files, I will need the SSH credential of my server to transfer files.
