Thank you all for coming to my brother’s wedding.

I love my brother, dearly. You know that Do, right? But I must admit we’ve always had a kind of
competition going on between us. You can’t deny it, sometimes it was pretty intense. The kind
of competition that would make us stay awake till the next day. To those who don’t know, we
were both athletic and physical. I’m referring the game of chess. To be honest I have beaten
you in the game quite a few times and I was the one who represented our school competition
because I defeated you after that long duel.

When it comes to music, I learned first. I joined kuya’s band early on and became good at it. But
there’s no denying you became amazing too. You never stayed behind. You made your own
band as well. Surprisingly we sounded amazing together.

I excelled in academics and became a lawyer, thinking “now I will surely beat my younger
brother who keeps on asking our kuya to make his speech”. Then you became a doctor and
now we’re even….

But today, I mean, Brother (pause for emphasis), I have to say, you took all this competitiveness
between us to an extreme level by being the first one to get married. And yeah, you won the
whole marriage competition, but you are so much more than the winner of our little
competition. You are a star winner because you chose Jenn to be your wife. You truly rose to be
a grand master in our league when you somehow convinced this amazing woman to marry you.

No offense Jenn, because I love you dearly too. But this is about my brother and his obsession
to beat me and see how far he’s willing to go. He married ahead of me…

To Doc Alden and Jenn, Mazel Tov, congratulations and best wishes. May Adonai continue to
keep you and bless you and give you peace.
