DISASSEMBLY PROCEDURE
1. Lower Case Assembly
1-1 Remove the sixteen (16) screws marked [310]. The four
corner pads can then be removed. (Fig. 1, 2)
1-2 Remove the screw marked [330]. The battery cover
assembly can then be removed. (Fig. 2)
1-3 Remove the thirteen (13) screws marked [300]. The lower
case assembly can then be removed. (Fig. 3)

2-1 Remove the lower case assembly. (See procedure 1.)
2-2 Remove the eighteen (18) screws marked [280A]. The
DM circuit board can then be removed with the shield
cover U and L. (Fig. 4)

7-3 Remove the AM/JK 1/2 circuit board. (See procedure 3.)
7-4 Remove the AM cover assembly. (See procedure 4-3.)
7-5 Pull out the nine rotary knobs in the control panel.
7-6 Remove the sixteen (16) screws marked [U150C]. The
PN1/4 circuit board can then be removed. (Fig. 6)
7-7 Remove the screw marked [320], and then tighten the
screw of the jigs marked [A] in exchange. (Fig. 7)
7-8 As shown in Fig. 8, raise up the CD support and place your
fingers between it and the magneto optical disk. As you lift
up CD support and screw and the magneto optical disk and
CD table assembly can also be removed. (Fig. 7, 8)
7-9 Remove the three (3) screws marked [U150D]. The PN2/4
circuit board can then be removed. (Fig. 6, 7)
8. Speaker (Left)
8-1 Remove the lower case assembly. (See procedure 1.)
8-2 Remove the four (4) screws marked [270A]. The left
speaker can then be removed. (Fig. 6)
9. Speaker (Right)
9-1 Remove the lower case assembly. (See procedure 1.)
9-2 Remove the AM/JK 1/2 circuit board. (See procedure 3.)
9-3 Remove the AM cover assembly. (See procedure 4-3.)

TEST PROGRAM
A. PREPARATION
1) PA-5C (AC adaptor) is used. (PA-5B, PA-51 is utilizable)
2) The volume is usually moved to the use position when no volume change is required.
3) Measuring instruments: frequency counter, level meter (with JIS-C filter)
Note: Connect a stereo plug to the [PHONES] jack at 33 ohms.

TEST 7-seg. LED for Each Test Test Functions and Judgment Criteria

Check the DAC noise.
Connect the level meter (with a JIS-C filter) to the [PHONES] jack. (33 ohm load)
19 Set the [MASTER VOLUME] at maximum. Check D/A converter noise.
PHONES L/R: Less than -80.0 dBm
Check the switches on the panel, LED, panel volume ,SCRATCH PAD and Fader.
Turn on the switches as shown on the LEDs in the sequence indicated in Table 1. A pre-
20 or assigned note is output when pressing the switch and others. (With some switches, the
corresponding LED will light up.) The volume of test turn the knob in order of MIN
MAX CENTER. The test results appear on the LED.
Check that the all LEDs on the panel are on.
21 All 7-seg. LEDs light up. When the [SCRATCH] button is pressed, all red light up. When
the [SCRATCH] button is pressed again, all green LEDs light up.
After connecting the [MIDI IN] jack and [MIDI OUT] jack with a MIDI cable, execute the
37 or test.The C4 note is output and that the test results appear on the LED.
Check the AUDIO BPM COUNTER.
39 Connect to the [AUDIO BPM IN] jack and input a -6 dBm (100 Hz) signal.
Turn the [SENSE] volume knob from minimum to maximum.
Checks the ROMs that are connected to the CPU.
41 or The test results appear on the LED.
Checks the RAMs that are connected to the CPU.
42 or The test results appear on the LED.
Checks the WAVE ROM.
43 or The test results appear on the LED.
Chk2 Performs the RAM back-up check.
Check that the display reads , then turn off the [STANDBY/ON] switch.
Enter the test program and perform the RAM back-up checks, then check again.
46 or Check that the LED displays .
Note: Do not turn on the power switch by normal mode while standing by, as the
RAM data will be lost.
All the RAMs are initialized and set to the factory preset data when executing this test.
47 The results appear on the LED.

INITIALIZATION
Except for the User Pattern data, all DJX-IIB panel settings are reset to their initial settings whenever the
power is turned on. The Use Pattern data is backed up (i.e. retained in memory) as long as an AC adaptor is
connected or a set of batteries is installed.
All data can be initialized and restored to the factory preset condition by turning on the power while holding
the LOOP button. "Clr!" will appear briefly on the display.
• All settings listeda bove, will be erased and/or changed when the data initialization procedure
is carried out.
• Carrying out the data initialization procedure will usually restore normal operation if the DJX-
IIB freezes or begins to act erratically for any reason.
