What you will do

- You will use the submission template (available on Brightspace) to record your answers to the
following tasks.

Task 1 – Your IP address

Use any method to determine the primary IP address of your computer/laptop.
a) Type your IP address into the submission template. (0.5 marks)
b) Take screen scrapes as evidence of your method and paste it/them into the submission
template. (0.5 marks)

Task 2 – Walmart’s IP address

Use any method to determine the IP address of Walmart’s public website (walmart.com).

a) Type the IP address into the submission template. (0.5 marks)

b) Take screen scrapes as evidence of your method and paste it/them into the submission
template. (0.5 marks)

Task 3 – Wireshark
Use Wireshark to capture web traffic to Walmart (or another website).
Steps:
1) Start Wireshark and select your active network connection
2) Use a browser to browse to Walmart.com (or another website)
3) Follow a few links to create some traffic
4) Click the “stop” button in Wireshark to stop the capture
5) Filter all captured traffic to and from your IP address as identified in task 1
Submission template:

a) Type the filter you used in Wireshark to filter the data (1 marks)
b) Take screen scrapes as evidence of your method and paste it/them into the submission
template. (1 marks)

Final steps (submission to Brightspace)
