PRESIDENT’S REPORT
“Witnessing faithfully to God’s love in Christ in every place and time in the power of the Holy Spirit.” Acts 1:8

I. Introduction

WOPIC as an organization aims to unite and develop the Women of the church through
the study of the Holy Scriptures, seminars/ gatherings, or fellowship, to formulate and
implement programs for the protection and promotion of the interest of its members and
take a stand in issues affecting them and the country as a whole.

The programs and activities of the WOPIC has been active and working for the past years.
However, pandemic has brought challenges to the organization especially in the way we
conducted activities. The organization has shifted to virtual meetings and activities during
the pandemic. The officers sought several ways to ensure that the organization stays
afloat during pandemic. Fortunately, the WOPIC being strong women did not just survive
the pandemic but thrive so that this organization continues the mission and ministry
entrusted to us by the Lord through this church.

II. Organizational Profile

The WOPIC Organization has 2 clusters – the Norther Cluster (in the Northern Vicariate)
which is composed of 16 parishes and missions, and the Southern Cluster (in the
Southern Vicariate) composed of 11 parishes and missions. The officers of the
organization for the triennial term 2020-2023 in the diocesan level are:

III. Meetings Conducted

In 2020, there were 2 meetings conducted:

1. February 1, 2020 – presided the northern


vicariate meeting at Valladolid
2. February 8, 2020 – conducted diocesan officers
meeting at the Parish of Magallon

In 2021, there were 3 meetings conducted:

1. February 12, 2021 Joint Diocesan officers and


Parish/Mission representatives at Guion Family

at Don Salvador Benedicto.
2. March 13, 2021 diocesan officers meeting at La
Granja
3. December 4, 2021 diocesan officers meeting at
Pulupandan

In 2022, there were 7 meetings conducted:

1. April 4, 2022 online regional board meeting


2. April 9, 2022 diocesan meeting at La Carlota
3. April 23, 2022 joint diocesan officers and parish
representative meeting at the Parish of Suay
4. July 16, 2022 joint diocesan officers and
parish/mission representatives meeting at the
Parish of Dancalan.
5. August 13, 2022 joint diocesan officers and
parish/mission representative meeting at the
Cathedral of St. John the Baptist, Bago City
6. September 10, 2022 joint diocesan officers and
parish/mission representative meeting at the
parish of La Castellana. Visited mam Ditas
Orezar in their home.
7. September 17, 2022 presided the southern
vicariate meeting at Suay, Himamaylan

In 2023, there was 1 meeting conducted by the joint


diocesan officers and the parish and mission
representative in preparation for then diocesan convention
last January 14, 2023 at the Cathedral of St. John the
Baptist, Bago City.

IV. Activities and Accomplishments

A. Social Concerns

a. Relief and Calamity Response: The organization had responded the


following calamities as part of the social concern of the organization:
1. Shared P1,000.00 to National WOPIC for Taal victim

2. Relief operation to affected by flood


at Daan Banwa Victorias, goods
coming from various parishes and
missions last Jan. 23, 2021

3. Shared and supported the relief


operations to the members at
southern vicariate during the
Supertyphoon Odette, together with
the SPTS seminarians at the Parish
of Sipalay last January 4, 2022.

4. Supported /shared P1,000.00 to


WOPIC Diocese of Leyte (victims of
landslide)

5. Launched the WOPIC


Care/Calamity/Relief fund
Campaign

b. Responded to an appeal for prayer and


financial assistance to Dr. Ditas Orezar and
Basilia Orbigoso (diocesan officers)
hospitalized due positive of COVID 19 last
July 15, 2021.

c. Campaign for COVID 19 vaccination drive

d. December 11, 2021 conducted a


bayanihan (LIFI, YIFI and WOPIC)
beautification, clean and green program at
the diocesan center.

e. Donated utensils to the diocese (paper


holder, spoon and fork, drinking glass, etc)

B. Education and Nurture

a. BUGTAW Program Participation - Educators speakers pool for Basic


Understanding on Governance, Traditions and Aglipayan Worship
(BUGTAW) program of the diocese,
together with Ms. Marilyn Abarte

b. Attended the online CARE group
formation last August 28, 2021
c. Conducted an BUGTAW at the Parish
of Ilog last May 28, 2022 2022.
d. Conducted an BUGTAW at the Parish
of Dancalan, and Salong last May 29,
2022
e. Conducted an assessment of BUGTAW Program at Calatrava last
December 3-4, 2022

C. Organizational

a. Amended the WOPIC Constitution and By Laws January 11, 2020


b. Participated for the 119th proclamation
anniversary virtual celebration last
August 2, 2021 and August 2, 2022
respectively.
c. Accommodated and hosted the Lakbay
Aral of the Parish of Majuyod, Diocese
of Negros Oriental and Siquijor
(Cathedral of St. John the Baptist) last
April 2, 2022.
d. January 22, 2023 conducted the
orientation for the amended Diocesan
WOPIC Constitution and By Laws by
cluster.
e. October 16, 2021-hosted the month of
the Laity and conducted virtual Zoom
Webinar on Science behind COVID 19
Vaccines (SARS-COV2 Vaccines)
attended by LIFI, YIFI and WOPIC, 27
participants.
f. Attended the 15th regional congress at
Diocese of Guimaras and visit to the
St. Paul’s Theological Seminary last
April 29-May 1, 2022 together with 16
delegates from Negros Occidental.

D. WOPIC Camp

Last October 13-15, 2022 the organization has conducted the First Diocesan
WOPIC Camp, held at Francisco Infante Memorial High School attended by 14
parishes and mission with 107 delegates.

Topics during the camp were integrated. These are Unhealthy Lifestyle Diseases
and Personality Development.

Proceeds of the activity were given to the Seminarian Support, FIMHS for comfort
rooms construction, and organizational fund.

With these, thank you very much for the support for three years and I hope that the
passion lives on as we elect our new set of officers who will serve for the next triennium.
