Fit the crankshaft TDC locking pin (09919-58110)

Before disconnecting the battery cable, check the audio system security code
Turn the crankshaft clockwise
Removal
Turn the crankshaft until it touches the TDC locking pin
Disconnect the battery
Fit the camshaft locking pin (09919-58120)
Engine

Remove the cover

Timing belt: removal/installation


General
Fit the crankshaft TDC locking pin (09919-58110)
Fit the camshaft
Always check thelocking
timing pin
marks
(09919-58120)
before timing belt removal

Loosen the tensioner pulley bolt
Remove the timing belt
Remove the tensioner pulley
Remove the idler pulley

Installation
Check the tensioner and idler pulleys; renew if necessary
IMPORTANT: Degrease the crankshaft and crankshaft pulley mating faces
Ensure the locking tools still fit correctly before fitting the timing belt (09919-58110/09919-58120)
Fit the tensioner pulley
Fit the timing belt
Align the timing marks on the timing belt with the marks on the gearwheels
Pre-tension the timing belt
Turn the tensioner anti-clockwise until the pointer is positioned as shown

Before disconnecting the battery cable, check the audio system security code

Removal
Disconnect the battery
Engine removed:
Tighten
Remove thethe tensioner
cover pulley mounting bolt (25 Nm)

Fit the flywheel locking tool

Timing belt: removal/installation


General
Always check the timing marks before timing belt removal
(9.00)

Refit the crankshaft pulley (120 Nm + 95°)


Remove all the locking tools
Rotate the crankshaft clockwise by 2 turns
Refit the locking pins (09919-58110/09919-58120)
Check the timing marks
Remove the locking pins
Count the number of teeth between the gearwheels
Repeat the procedure if the number of teeth is not: (18)

Before disconnecting the battery cable, check the audio system security code

Removal
Disconnect the battery
Engine removed:
Remove the cover

General
Always check the timing marks before timing belt removal

Loosen the tensioner pulley, keeping it steady with a hexagonal wrench


Turn the tensioner clockwise to align both marks
(1.00)

Before disconnecting the battery cable, check the audio system security code
Tighten the tensioner pulley mounting bolt (25 Nm)
Removal
Refit the access
Disconnect plug
the battery (20 Nm)

Engine removed:
Remove the cover

Refit the bracket
