My name is Cole Polson, and I am an ELA educator at Graham-Kapowsin High

School in Graham, Washington. During my time at Graham-Kapowsin, I had the
fortune of working with Elizabeth Nichelson as she completed her student
teaching.

From the beginning, it was clear to me that Elizabeth is an educator. Upon

meeting her during a PLC meeting, textbooks and materials in hand, she
introduced herself as Ms. Nichelson. Elizabeth immediately engaged in the
planning process during the meeting, and even offered wonderful suggestions
for activities in various lessons.

In the classroom, it is clear students both respect Elizabeth and have a positive
rapport with her as there were numerous occasions in which students stayed
after class to discuss their lives both in and out of the classroom with her.
Elizabeth was always quick to help the students and provide the necessary
resources for them to be successful.

One thing that really sticks out to me about Elizabeth is her dedication to the
profession: she is excellent at developing engaging lessons while also engaging
in thoughtful reflection to improve. After every lesson, Elizabeth was quick to
share the results with the team and ask for feedback. Taking the feedback into
consideration, she immediately began planning for the next lesson.

I am confident that Elizabeth Nichelson will make an excellent addition to your
