FEBUARY Russian President Vladimir


Putin launched an invasion
of Ukraine, citing the need

Ukrainian forces launch a successful
counteroffensive in Kharkiv, prompting Putin
to mobilize 300,000 reservists and stage
2022 illegal referendums in Donetsk, Luhansk,
Kherson, and Zaporizhzhia. Putin then signs
documents to annex the four regions at a
Kremlin ceremony.
