    Your Excellency,

    We were deeply saddened to learn of the passing of His Royal Highness Prince Philip, the
    Duke of Edinburgh.
    Prince Philip’s modesty, strength, elegance, courage, charm, sense of duty, sportsmanship
    and selflessness have inspired countless generations.
    His Royal Highness shared a lifelong friendship with King Michael of Romania. The
    enduring bond between the British and Romanian Royal Families reminds us that European
    heritage means unity, tradition and diversity.
    Our thoughts and prayers are with Her Majesty The Queen, the Prince of Wales and the
    British Royal Family.
