Your Excellency,

The news of His Majesty Queen Elisabeth II’s passing brought great sorrow in our hearts.
For Queen Elisabeth II and other great monarchs of our time, as was our late King Michael,
“Noblesse oblige” became part of their nature, being royal to the core of their true selves.
The historical bond that our Nation has with the British Crown stands firm in the special
relation between the British and Romanian Royal Families. The great links of friendship established
in the time of Queen Elisabeth II, Prince Philip, King Michael and Queen Anne will continue with a
new generation.
The Romanian people hope that the reign of His Majesty King Charles III, with the support
of the Queen Consort, will strengthen the ties between our countries. Her Majesty Margareta, the
Custodian of the Romanian Crown, will remain, alongside Prince Radu, a reminder of the unity that
Queen Victoria created between the Royal Families two centuries ago.
Our thoughts and prayers are with British Royal Family and the Nations of the
Commonwealth that morn Queen Elisabeth II.
