TYPES OF PASTAS :

Penne - Medium length tubes with ridges, cut diagonally at both ends.

Orecchiette -Bowl or ear shaped pasta

Conchiglie - Small shell shaped pasta

Bucatini - Hollow spaghetti

Ruote - a wheel shaped pasta that is very similar to rotelle

Cavatappi - Corkscrew-shaped macaroni

Fusilli - Three-edged spiral, usually in mixed colors. Many vendors and brands sold as fusilli are two-
edged

Farfalle - Bow tie or butterfly shaped

Spaghetti - Most common round-rod pasta

Pipe Rigate - a hollow curved pasta that looks similar to a snail shell

Macaroni - short curved tubular pasta in a semi-circle shape

Rigatoni - short, wide tubes of pasta that have ridges on the outside, but are smooth on the inside

Lasagne - Very wide noodles that often have fluted edges

Linguine - Flattened spaghetti

Cavatelli - Short, solid lengths

Cannelloni - Oven cooked, stuffed rolls of pasta

Pappardelle - Thick flat ribbon

Ravioli - Square. About 3x3cm. Stuffed with cheese, ground meat, pureed vegetables, or mixtures
thereof

Tagliatelle - Ribbon fairly thinner than fettucine

Campanelle - Flattened bell-shaped pasta with a frilly edge on one end
